I have asked this question to various people and have studied the scriptures, but haven't decided what to believe.
EXAMPLE:
Let's suppose you and a unsaved friend are riding in a car and both are killed in a car wreck. You go to heaven and the unsaved friend goes to hell. The bible talks about how great heaven will be and that there will be no more tears...etc.
QUESTION:
Will you remember your unsaved friend and if so, how will you not be sad about the situation? Also, will you remember your family that you left behind and if so, how will you not be sad?
I would like biblical replys if possible. Thanks, atc

Brother, the bible says that all are in the Book of Life, but not all are in theLambs Book of Life. That will be judgement day and no one has the answer to that. One has to die to find out. I'm sure that all will be judged differently.

Thanks Reb, I always enjoy your replys. I was told before that when our tears are wiped away is on the judgment day when our deeds or the lack there of are displayed. Not sure about that, but what you said seems right, that no one has an answer.

What I find to be a sad thought is that possibly those in hell will remember but their loved ones with Christ may not even remember that they existed. So much more the worse.

WOW, I haven't really thought about that. Another thoughtis when we are in heaven we will see our saved loved ones, so shouldn't that remind us of Uncle Leroy who was a drunk unsaved person who died and is hell? Then we would be sad. I guess this is like the chicken and the egg, which came first....LOL.
Sometimes when I try to figure things out like this, it reminds me how awesome God is and how much higher his ways are than ours. Our greatest scientific & theological minds are extremely smart, but they can't even scratch the surface of God's wisdom and knowledge. Anyway, I guess I will have to wait and see whe I get to heaven....boy do I have a lot of questions when I get there.....LOL.

I believethe Christianwill remember. I believe we will know everything when we get there. We will be the same person, with the same intellect. The only thing we loose is our physical frame. The reason we won't be sad is because we will then understand the justice of God. We won't shed tears for that loved one because we will know that God did everything possible to save them. That will give us peace, the promise is not that we won't know things, it is that we will understand them.
"Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." 1 John 3:2
