Default Church Time

Good morning and welcome to Church on the Net..I imagine a lot of the guys are out hunting this morning so the crowd will be small..but Jesus said, 'Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them." so church goes on, Amen...
Father thank you for this another day we can come before you and study thy precious Word..and Father as always we ask you to be with the sick and afflicted and those who are in need..and may you touch hearts today, and supply our needs according to your will. In Jesus name and for his sake we pray, Amen!
I thought today we would talk about prayer..all of us at one time or another need pray.. i know i need it everyday..and i am so glad we have a God who hears and answers prayer, aren't you?

Let's look at our text this morning, Acts 4:13-31 KJV.
13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
23And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
24And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Here in our text, Peter and John were in danger..the religious leaders in Jeresalem that were against the gospel had told them to stop their missionary efforts..verse 18. and here hundreds of years later they are still trying to stop the spreading of the good news, the gospel..Praise God they couldn't stop it then and they can't stop it now..oh yes they can cause all kinds of problems and make it hard for the Christian, but God says,"Heaven and earth shall pass away but my Words shall not pass away." you notice when the apostles told the others what was going on, they immediately held a prayer meeting.. folk, that's what's wrong today..when something goes wrong we try to fix it ourselves, when we ought to be on our knees asking God to intervene.what happened next had to be a thrilling experiance..they first praised God, then they asked for boldness(v29) to continue preaching the Gospel..man the house shook and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and then they had spiritual unity and they continued on with their work..now i'll admit, i never felt the building shake at a prayer meeting, which we hold every wednesday night, but i have seen God's power at work.. i saw a woman healed of cancer of the throat after we layed hands on her and annointed her with oil and prayed..and others who were healed by prayer.. yes, prayer works, if you pray in earnest and sincerely, praising God and seeking his glory..prayer must always come from the heart..so remember, the next time something comes up that you can't handle, take it to the lord in prayer for there isnothing to large or to small for my God..
Father as always, if there is anyone here that is lost and without a Saviour, we ask that thy Sweet Holy Spirit will minister to their hearts and this will be their day iof salvation..we thank you for Calvary because your Word says,"Without the shedding of blood their is no remission of sin" thank you Jesus and it's in your name we pray,Amen
Have a great week-end and tell someone about Jesus..

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful? Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer!
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He"™ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised, Thou wilt all our burdens bear.
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded, there will be no need for prayer. Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.
