Default I am home

Well I traveled on Sunday due to my father telling me at the last minute he was having surgery. "nothing major, didn't want you kids to worry". Well he went in on yesterday morning to have a hernia repaired. Well I believe the devout Christian ommitted a few facts.

His stomach and colon had slid up into his chest cavity through the hernia. It was smashing his sleen in between the stomach and chest cavity. They had to pull down the stomach and colon, put in a mesh type material from allowing it to go back up and suture / stitch the stomach to the abdomen wall.

He woke up after the three and half hour surgery and told us that he loved us. Within about 5 hours he was asking about the election results. They had him up and walking within 24 hours. He got his foly cath out and his urinating on his own. Not bad for a 64 yr young man!

I guess I can forgive him for not being totally honest with me. I sure do love him and hope that I can be half the man he has been.

Yeap he survived self destruction at young age ( smoking, drinking ), vietnam, three marriages, knee surgery, two hernia operations, 20 plus years as a Union Organizer for Iorn workers, and raising us three monsters. How he survived that and kept his faith and mind.....I'll never know.

Thanks to all. I spoke with him this morning. He was walking the hallways and looking forward to going home. Since our Father has seen fit to take care of him and got my son at least back in school I am hoping for a good deer season. It will start on Saturday. If I am not around I will definitely be thinking of all of you while on my stand.

Take care of yourselves. Peace.
