Mr. Fish,
In 1st John it says we love God because he first loved us. We are also commanded to love God above all else..including our very own lives. Ist John again tells us that His Word in us perfects God's love in us. As awhen we read and practice obeying God's Word his love is made perfect in us.
1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Do ya see the assurance in that verse Mr.Fish...when we have this love we KNOW that we are in Him.

Knighta, in my words, that we don't know that we can really count on anyone in the last analysis . . .including ourselves, but that we have a loving God who sticks closer than a brother. He's always there, He's always the same, He's give us His Word and we can count on it.

From the Word : Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Knighta . . .this is just too good to pass up IMO.

Chuch_ as u sying god o loves us oon matter whatttweer

Yes Mr. Fish ..God loves you . no matter what.

Luke 15:4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

I only know i have no such thing C7.Maybe the words will help me get there & that to i doubt even- but i will keep looking& trying to understand. Mr. Fish

Mr. Fish,
In 1976 the f ---word was in all of my sentences. I stayed stoned for 4 years and was getting kicked out of the service as a disgrace to the military. I picked up a New Testament and read it from cover to cover. I had no idea what I was reading. God's Word in my heart changed my thinking and ultimately led me to salvation ...and I didn't understand what I read. john 6 :63 says/My Words are Spirit and they are life. That is the truth. The Word is living and has great power in itself...if you understand it or not.
