Default Power of Prayer or coincidence?

My son and I have begun to talk. He has re enrolled in school. My 64 yr old father is having surgery on Tuesday nothing major a hernia repair for the second time the first took place in 79. Needless to say I still wnat to be there for him and my step mother. My mother who has been calluse and hated him ever since the divorce actually wished him well last night. By me being away for his surgery I was going to miss the free flu shot that I was waiting on rather than going to the doctor and pay for one. Just receieved email at work that the people giving the shot would not be here until a later date due to running low on vaccine.

Is this a result of power of prayer or coincidence?

I believe when we as sinners admit and accept responsibilty for our faults and truly turn over our lifes to our Father Almighty only good things can come from it.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers for me and my family.

Being a doctor, I sure hope it was a coincidence.

Interesting. You would hope that prayer would not be heard and answered by God so that you could stay in business and profit from others misery? Is that the message you are trying to get across?

So doc what about when a person does not respond to treatment then what??? Keep trying another until you get it right?

Hey doc I would like for you to read the first paragraph of something. Does this look familiar?

I SWEAR by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius, and Health, and All-heal, and all the gods and goddesses, that, according to my ability and judgment, I will keep this Oath and this stipulation to reckon him who taught me this Art equally dear to me as my parents, to share my substance with him, and relieve his necessities if required; to look upon his offspring in the same footing as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they shall wish to learn it, without fee or stipulation; and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction,
I will impart a knowledge of the Art to my own sons, and those of my teachers, and to disciples bound by a stipulation and oath according to the law of medicine, but to none others.
I will follow that system of regimen which, according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous.
I will give no deadly medicine to any one if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give to a woman a pessary to produce abortion.
With purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practice my Art. I will not cut persons laboring under the stone, but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners of this work.
Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for the benefit of the sick, and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief and corruption; and, further from the seduction of females or males, of freemen and slaves.
Whatever, in connection with my professional practice or not, in connection with it, I see or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret.
While I continue to keep this Oath unviolated, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art, respected by all men, in all times!
But should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse be my lot!

Again who is it that you swear by????

What about the people who had counted on the flu shots being available on the originally scheduled day but will not be able tomake it for the later date? They will have to pay a doctor or risk getting the influenza virus before the free shots are available. What about people who get the flu while waiting for the free flu shots?

Many people will potentially be inconvienced or even harmed because you made aprayerfor a free flu shot for yourself.

I am sorry if I stated it incorrectly .....I did not pray for a free flu shot. Matter of fact I was going to get one next week and pay the 20 bucks. I only thought of the flu shot after I found out about it today after I was informed about the surgery. My wife and I was discussing getting it the other day. That would be silly and selfish to pray for something that I could provide for myself and selfish.

What about my questions????? What about your "oath"????

Brother, the Lord works in mysterious ways. God looks after His children. the smallest blessing is still a blessing no matter the size or what others may think. All I can say is give God the glory for it and don't look back.

...."and to teach them this art, if they shall wish to learn it, without fee or stipulation; and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction"

I interpret this to mean that if I train someoneelse to be a doctor I will not charge them afee. This one has apparantly long been abandonedsince medical shcools now charge tuition of about $35,000 a year. It does not say anything about not charging the patient a fee for services performed.

Its all in Gods will. I have seen many, and I mean many of my prayers answered. So to equate it to simple chance would be assinine. The laws of probability do not even support what I have witnessed.
