How important is it to say thank you.

Could one of you good Christians please post the portion of scripture where the 10 lepers were healed but only one returned and said thanks.

Thanking you in advance..I'm at school giving a quarterly test which gives me some time off.My Bible resources are on my home computer.

Question...

Why did it seem to be a big deal to Jesus that only one came back to give Him thanks?..He said,"Weren't there 10 that were healed?"

11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

I wrote this post to express a concern. Most children are a reflection of their parents if we want to admit that or not. I buy a lot of healthy snacks to motivate my children.Since I'm a man I've been give lots of tough boys but I also hand picked 4 awesome straight A type girls to act as my peer tutors. I've noticed though when I give a treat it's very rare to get a thankyou. I think these days alot of foks act like the world owes them something.Last week I was really ticked. If they are good all week I give them extra recess , cheese crackers and juice. WhileI was handing out the juice one sweet child says,"And where's my crackers.?" I simply took back all the juices and gave them back later in the day when I saw a more thankful attitude. It really grieves God as well I'm sure when we don't take time out to thank Him.This morning my wife and I spent much more time thanking than requesting.

a thought .......

perhaps "thanks" is translated incorrectly.

perhaps this passage is meant to convey that the one fell down, and humbled himself before Jesus as to what was done. Much, MUCH more than a simple thanks, a true heart felt, I am indebted to you for life kind of thing ?
