Default Church messages

Not sure how to title this and this has probably been beat to death. At church this past sunday, our pastor preached an annointed message but as he was preaching some of what he was saying I feltwas offending people. He was preaching the Word from the Bible and I feel that it was needed to get his message accross. After church I pondered that and came to this point. Some of the big mega churches only preach those feel good messages that tickle the congragations ears. Those churches maybe growing by leaps and bounds but I feel that its the "smoke and lights" so to speak and the programs the church offers for the children and youth that get people to come in. I feel that people are attending these mega churches, to feel good about them selves just to say "I did my duty and went to church". However, I feel that so much is being missed. just because these people fill a church pew on sunday morning doesn't make them a Christian. I can set in kitchen but that doesn't make me a chef. I am glad that my Pastor teaches the Word of God, upsetting the Jones' or not! I think those that are offended are just like the pharasees and saddusees when Jesus was speaking then. There are too many "Religious" churches, missing the point.

I dont think a point accross this message and it really doesnt make since.maybe you can understand some of my point(s).
God Bless

it's not only the Mega churches,Bro.... I've visited SMALL(under 30) congregations, that wanted to stay small by their treatment of guests!!
I've attended Mega-million dollar "churches", that were more flesh than Spirit. We have in our rural are(now not so rural).. get this... 4 churches that were in excess of 6 million bucks to build.... mini-cities, I call em. they are impressive to the human eye..but less impressive to the human soul..they are cold..distant...and blatantly PROUD of "what they built for Christ"............ ................................they what ?

God help us

Amen to that. Hearing God's Word isn't always an easy task and will make some people squirm in the seats feeling uneasy about themselves. God's Word needs to be preached the way it is given and sometimes, the truth hurts. If it has the desired results, the "painfulness" is worth it.
