the count now is 2. A 6 point and a 5 point that makes for a good start.

Sounds like a good start to me Renrow. I'll be getting started here pretty soon. We've been having some rain and the pastures should be greening. I've been seeing a few deer around the house here and lots of sightings in the swamp. I'm actually still good in the freezer but making room for more.

I guess most of the leaves have fallen up your way . . .did ya'll have a lot of acorns this yr?

the last couple of days the wind has taken all most all the leaves and it has turn real cool so the rut should start real soon or it mite have already have started I have seen a few scrape and rubs. Mac I ment what I said in the PM I sent just let me know. Chuck7 my son will be in next week and I will have him post the 5 point I forgot to take a pic of the 6 point. sorry I was not thinking. he knows a lot more about the camera and how to post than I do.

My goal, as always, was to kill two does first to open up both buck tags. I killed two very nice does, 98lbs and 104 lbs., so my buck tags are now open. I passed up a decent 6 point early this morning that passed 15 yards from my treestand (and 75 yards from my front door) - I called in another similar one an hour or so later.. I'm focusing on bigger bucks only - mature 8 points or better. The last year or two have been a bit dry with big bucks staying out of range or coming in too early, or too late. I'm passing up some pretty tempting shots on them, but I don't want to fill my tags with young bucks - esp when they're living on my place!

Now, if I could just get rif of this stinking cold I've got.
