Default A Word from Soilarch

Thomas gave a couple of scripture references I'd like to post.

Proverbs.16:9 We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.

and good ole Psalm 1.

Psalm 1
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Thanks for reminding us Thomas,
Your friend,C7

Lol, Chuck...it blesses me to know that you got some encouragement out of that post

I really like my parallel Bible, as the slightlest change in translations and word usage lets me see the same thing from different angles sometimes:

Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps NKJV

The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. NASB

And paraphrase of Psalms:

"Blessed is the man [who]... delights in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water... in whatever he does, he prospers. Not so the wicked!"

Its been awhile and I tried the fast today, I guess I'll try again tomorrow How easy it use to be! I'm amazed, but it was still productive.

Whats great about those verses to me is that they give comfort when I'm stressin' about...well, just about anything. He's a good Father, a Good King, and how we adopt this idea sometimes that He's not active in our life and always looking out for our best interest or that He's "got bigger fish to fry" than to supply our needs is beyond me. Of course, we all know that the above is true... but how often to we live like its not?

Thomas...I've been seeking God concerning the exact struggle you are talking about. I won't get in to any details{ Because Go dworks in us differently concerning our individual struggles}but God has been really helping me in this area. I desire the same thing for you. I'm putting on a green prayer bracelet for you this very second. I will commit myselfto pray daily for you. We can't do nothing apart from Him my brother. you know that. He delights in our prayers and He will streghthen you and make His will known to you. God loves you Thomas.
