On another forum, every week-end i post a condensced sermon..this is this week's..i won't make this a habit..
Well good morning to you all and what a joy it is to be here and to share God's precious word with you and It is my prayer that in some way or some how it will bring a blessing to you..
Dear Heavenly Father, we come humbly before you this day, thanking you for all the many blessings you have bestowed upon us..we thank you for your precious Son Jesus that gave his life on that old rugged cross that a wretched sinner like me might have eternal life in Heaven if i would but just believe and trust in Him..yes Father we thank you for Calvary and the shed blood of Jesus..now father i pray that we will open our hearts and minds and that thy sweet Holy Spirit may spek to us through this ole man..we love you Jesus and it is in your name and for your sake we pray..Amen..
Well as you all know it is hunting season and i have been getting ready for opening day and as i was sitting here thinking what i was going to say, i remembered a verse in Psalm 42
1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
As the deer panteth after water David writes, "so panteth my soul after thee, O God"..what about you, do you really want to be closer to God or are you happy where you are? you know sometimes we get saved and then we find our own little valley of self content, and sit down on our seat of do nothing and expect God to bless us..well my friends, God expects more than that out of us..we shold have a thirst in our heart for God..as Jesus told the woman at the well,"Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst agin." he is talking of the water of the world, "Bur whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." have you been to the well? have you drank of the water He has for you? if not, go there today, He is there waiting for you, He wants to save you..
in verse 5 he asks,"Why art thou cast down,O my soul,and why art thou disquited in me? could that be your queation today? are you discouraged and downhearted? has it been a bad week for you? if so do what /david said,"Hope thou in God and i shall yet praise him for the help of thy countenence." yes my friend, that true peace can only come from God..
As some of you may know , i am 77 years old and i have had a very rare form of cancer for 6 years now for which there is no cure i also have the two upper heart valves going bad..but don't fret for me just thank God He has kept me around as long as He has..I like to think that i am in the sunset part of my life and when the sun sets here for me, the SON will rise up there for me..Glory to God..
Jesus came to this earth, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and buried, but praise God He arose and is today, at the right hand of the Father in Heaven waiting for him to say,"Son it's time, go get your church" are you ready? Will you be among that number? that's the gospel..do you believe it? then repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Master and He will save you..
Father thank you for your Word..i know i have presented it poorly but you said your Word wouldn't return void so may someone's heart be touched today.. we thank you and love you in Jesus name..Amen
