I 'd rather play it on my guitar.

There are many different kinds of music that help set the mood.
I play according to the moodI want...

When Fasting John Michael Talbot..Michael Card

Painting a house ..helpto get the paint brush moving...Phil Keaggy

Driving on a trip...Michael W. Smith, or Promice Keepers

Worship in church ..I prefer hymns or scripture songs.

Myself on the guitar...
Bluegrass Gospel
Finger picking Psalms
Michael W Smith type worship
Don Francisco Folk Gospel

there are a lot of things i enjoy, where i put my myself within them is what is important IMHO, when given the choice to listen to music that glorifies God or something else i try to choose the things that bring glory toGod, and trust me i seeGod at work everyday...

I am like Keith, I listen mostly to talk radio, I think because I am a retired musician and making music reminds me of work. .. I don't listen to musiclike others do, I hear each individual working at their craft.
But Ispend a lot of timein the woods hunting or fishing. And the sounds that comes from a forest are some of the most beautiful praise music to my ear. I know that God has orchestrated that symphony.
By the way Okie Archer, what part of Ok are you from.

Well, since my minor was music, (major chemistry) I want to jump in here. I love all styles of music. I play the piano/keyboards and come from a family that was very musical (brother majored in classicial guitar). My main style that I like is rock & roll and praise & worship. I sing tenor on our main praise team at church and fill in on the keyboard/piano. As far as groups, I like so many, but here are a few.

Kutless, Whiteheart (the last 5 CD's), Sanctus Real, Storyside, Starfield, Phillips Craig & Dean, Mercy Me, Jars of Clay, Casting Crowns, Third Day and many many more.

As far as secular goes, my all time favorite is Journey and then Styx. I was in a rock band back in the late 80's for 3 years and we were about to sign with a label when two of the guys decided to go to the army.....duh. Oh well, I am where God wants me now b/c if I went through with that, I might have never trully became a christian even though I knew the answers from child hood.

Anyway, enough of that, enjoy the music.

LOL....yes I understand. Funny how it is always one or two classes that get in the way. I am actually working on another chemistry degree (environmental chemistry) part time while working in a research lab and it always seems that I need another calculus class, differential equations class or advanced organic bioremediation....LOL. Isn't it amazing how we think we are so smart with all this science understanding, and yet haven't even scratched the surface of God's understand? Man He is amazine!!

Anyway, I have enjoyed reading some of your replys this last few days since I have joined this forum.
