Default good deeds result in reward

I was wondering if you do something right will God reward you? There is something in my life I want very badly. I have given up or slowed down what I used to do in order to get what I want. I have prayed to God and told him what I want and I will do this. I am sure this type of thinking is probably not right. Figure see what people think.

Well...some may not agree with you but after seeing examples in the Old Testament yes...I agree to a point. And even in the New Testament God rewards those who seek Him dilently..
Hebrews 11:6 ...also God does give us at times the desires of our heart Psalm 37..and as a baby Christian one may still be focusing on oneself. However; the more mature we get we begin seeking God for spiritual blessings in our life such as temperance ,more faith etc. Becareful what you ask for my friend.

When I was a brand new Christian I was 22 and believe it or not..still a virgin. I thought everyone in the church was a Christian. I saw this gorgeous red head in the church and prayed "Lord I know I could be a much better Christain if she was my girlfriend. Sure enough ...after the Wednesday night service she ask me out on a date. I got in her car and the fifthiest language came out of her mouth. I was shocked and said "WOW ..I thought you was a Christain." She started having car trouble and our date ended fast. The ole devil kept messing with me saying "What an idiot..this is your chance." So she planned to pick me up the next evening. I went out and bought some sporting type clothes for my first date. I was in the army at the time and she was a bank teller. She stood me up I thought for she never showed up. A month later I found out what had happened. That evening she had spilled a scolding hot pot of soup down the front of herself. I was spared. I learned a good lesson real fast. Not everyone who goes to church is a Christian....and be careful what you pray for.

deerhunter Please don't take affence at what I am going to say. Why do you keep asking God for the things you want from this world for you're time is short here on this world. Try asking God to give you the blessing that he has for you he can give more than you can wish for. He may not give you what you want but he will give you what you need. God does have a use for you that only he knows and what you are praying for may get in the way of his plans. Just remenber the greatest give God can give you is some times NOT to answer the prayer you ask. But that is a answer

God bless brother and may you find the love joy God has for you.

i don't think God will reward you using a "conditional" type prayer, however God does reward us daily some are just to blind too see it...i know first hand, it took me a looooooong time to grasp what is really important in life.
