This next stuff I'm working on putting to file deals with the other side of Christ's dual nature . . .His humanity. Theres some groundwork material first but I think it gets interesting shortly regardless of your take on the overall message.

A brief word on the meaning of the two words Jesus and Christ. Jesus is the Greek version of the Hebrew word Jehoshua, which means Jehovah-Savior or Jehovah is Salvation. It is the name God chose for His Son- the name which God has revealed Himself in the New Testament. It is a name the Son received by inheritance (Hebrews 1:4). Christ is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Messiah; both words mean "the anointed one." Strictly speaking, Christ is a title and not a name. However, in the Epistles and in ordinary usage today, Christ is used as simply another name for Jesus, since Jesus is the Christ. In many cases, Jesus and Christ are just two names used interchangeably to refer to the same person, with no distinction in meaning being intended.

Mac, since you are studying this subject intently, is there a significant difference between using the name/title of Jesus Christ versus Christ Jesus? In the past I read an article about it, but don't remember the significance.

I don't know Dave, might be a good question for Alex. I would say that there is no significant difference in the arrangment of the names and the titles. From looking at the Bible it seems that they were arranged both ways. I did a phrase search on my e-sword and came up with "Jesus Christ" used 197 times and "Christ Jesus" used 58 times.
I would like to see the article if you can think where you found it tho.
