Default Summary of this morning's Dave Wilkerson message.

I know most if not all of you won't listen to David Wilkerson's message. However it so touched me that I will summarize it for you. I won't comment on anything I will be simply quoting David. I was deeply challenged and trust some of you may be too.

Why The World Hates Christians.
"Jesus told us in John 15 we would be hated. This is a trait that must be going on in your life for the world will love it's own. Jesus said when the world loves you it's because you are really part of them anyway.

Here is the characteristics of these hypocritical churches. When they are around someone new they only sow little seeds because they value popular opinion rather than to be hated for Christ sake. Paul was not softly introduced to Christ ..he was knocked off a horse. Woe unto you 1000s of baptist and pentecostals who live a life that is not hated becase you are just like the world. All of your numbers ..your precious numbers and converts are 2 fold converts of Satan. You refuse to preach a true Holy Ghost message a full gospel ..the only gospel that sets men free because you would rather have the approval of man. ..therefore you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. You are really not Christians at all.

Real Christians are hated because they do not compromise. They are not afraid to present the full gospel when witnessing. Their preaching is louder thantheseother folk'sconsciences that have been seared..thus the reason they are hated. Jesus said you would be hated . Not hated for walking in rudeness or for acting stupid but yes hated for not being ashamed of the gospel and for preaching / living it ..even if it means losing a friend

If ye are of the world..the world will love you."
David Wilkerson quoted by C7

Default RE: Summary of this morning's Dave Wilkerson message.

The most precious thing to a worldly person is his self-righteousness. Think about it: he has spent his whole life forming a good opinion of himself. He's built an idol to his good works. He praises himself that he's really good at heart and kind to others. Simply put, he's built his own Tower of Babel, a monument to his own goodness. He is sure that he's good enough for heaven, and too good for hell.
This ungodly man has spent years beating down his conscience and searing it. He has taught himself to still every voice of conviction that comes to him. And now he enjoys a false peace. He has become so deceived, he actually believes God admires him!
And now, just when he has shut down the voice of his conscience, you, a Christian, come along. And the truth you bring speaks more loudly than his dead conscience: "Unless you're born again, you can't enter the kingdom of heaven."

Suddenly, you're a threat in this man's mind. You're someone who wants to deprive him of his assurance that all is well with his soul. All this time, he has thought he is okay. But now you're telling him that all his good works are as filthy rags.
I tell you, this man doesn't see you as someone who's bringing good news. No, in his eyes you're a tormenter, someone who's out to take away his peaceful sleep at night.
There are millions of this type of person, and many of them are filling church pews every Sunday.
Such people think they're in God's good graces simply because they show up at church. Yet they've created their own concept of who Christ is. Their christ is someone just like themselves. And that christ isn't formed by God's Word, but by their own blindness.

Chuck, I'm surprised that your link downloaded so fast with my dial up connection.
I've listened to about half of his message. Pretty good so far, keep posting the links.

Thanks brother..
I must be honest Leaf ..I think Dave was a little too hard and hear is my reasoning. This was a 2003 message.

His wife has gone through 20 surguries and he appears plumb exhausted. He seemed a little over zealous COMPARED to his 2007 messages which he often said " Folks..please read me clear ..this has nothing to do with your salvation..I'm talking being an effectual Christian . God has dealt with me on the issue of wearing out the saints."
I say Amen to that. With all that said ..I agree with you and plan to continue to listen weekly to his messages. I need to hear them . They are good for me. He has a great track record and my family enjoys hearing him too although it's deafening quiet around hear after he's done. My wife was crying during the end of the message prayer time. The annointing of God is very present with those messages.

Could be why I liked him Chuck. I like the ones that don't pull any punches as long as he has his ducks in a row. Actually, he is pretty mild compared to many I have heard.
The thing with me is that I don't necessarily have to agree with everything that a preacher says to get the good out of his message, for instance, I'm not sure if I totally agree with his "two fold child of hell" analogy as far as witnessing Christ to the lost. But then again it does apply to those into seriously false doctrine. All in all good preaching tho. I'd listen to more.

...I'm of the belief that a little off the path, is just as lost as a mile off....
we've accepted compromise in todays' religious denominations..something that will have dire consequences down the road, I'm afraid....
he was right on, on a couple issues.

he was right on, on a couple issues. Brian

The only place I saw anything ...and this is strictly my opinion was his narrow mindedness{ I don't mean this in a put down way .God forbid that I should speak a word against this fellow.Narrow mindedness in the true sense of the word. Like a man following a plow.}in saying how Saul ws converted. He seemed to say we should pull no punches when witnesssing.I don't know. Jesus dealt totally differentwith the following individuals..
A. Women at the well...had a lenghthy conversation first.
B. Nicodemous............made a dinner engagement
C. Peter....................very direct Come and follow me.

As far as missing the mark as a preacher. David mentions many times how he has missed th emark Brian. There are no perfect preachers, We are all learning. He has humbly confessed many times when he has blown it. Most of his blowing it has come from being over zealous and lacking the grace. He will tell you that. At 75 now he pours the grace on. The holiness message is still there but a pleading with tears and a confessing of his own short comings. He is by far my best preacher for this day and this hour. Especially in the society we live in. he does not watch TV and does not care for popular opinion. A group of well known TV preachers lately wanted him to join with them in thier 'group' He refused. I like that. I like a man single eyed toward God for certainly Paul said." If I still pleased man I couldn't be a servant of God." I certainly don't see Dave as a man pleaser .I've yet to hear one word asking for money. Not one. His wife also pours through the e-mails and they will call upsome of there writers.
