Default Steve Irwin, dead

Steve Irwin the crockodile hunter has died in Australia. On some other sights some hunters are saying he was an anti-hunter and good ridence. Another "bunny hugger" bites the dust. and such.

I never heard that he was a real vocal anti-hunter but I don't think it is good to rejoice at the death of any man.

I think he did some good to raise the profile of conservation in Australia and to raise the profile of Australia in the world.

God rest his soul and comfort his family.

I always liked his shows and he really seemed to be a nice guy. I'm not sure he was an anti hunter, but he was a good advocate for conservation.
Shame on anyone who mock or celebrate over a husband and father of two's death.

He's been the first thing covered on all the major networks and even the local news around here. He was a huge celebrity and well-liked by millions. We enjoyed watching him and are sad to see that he was killed doing some of the dangerous work he so often chose to do. I did read that he was a voice against hunting of crocs and gators and he had that right. I'm an davocate of hunting and we both have the right to express our views even though we disagree. I never would bash him for his viewpoint though. Like I said, I liked the guy and, now that he's dead, it would be shameful to do so.

I feel awful for his wife, and especially his kids.

Honestly, I'm angry at the guy for not putting his family first and taking the risks he did--some of that stuff was just plain stupid and served no purpose except to up ratings. He played his own form of Russian roulette, and as with any form of that game if you keep playing you will eventually loose. I find it ironic that after years of pushing his luck with venomous snakes and dangerous game, the lowly stingray was his end.

I hope he was right with God before he passed, and hope his family will look to God for comfort.
