Default Awesome

I went up to the Snowy Range yesterday to look for some grouse for dinner, and while I was standing on the top of a ridge looking over the entire Centennial Valley, I couldn't help but stand in awe of God's awesome creation. A thought I have had many a time before passed through my mind then; the biggest reason that I love to hunt, fish, camp, and hike is that I love to get out and immerse myself in His wonderful creation, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Especially when I am here at college, surrounded by temptations everywhere I turn. The thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of fending for myself are only the icing on the cake.

I realize this may not the be type of thread that you can really respond to, but I constantly hear people asking the question "why do you hunt?", and I just wanted share my thoughts with individuals who I know feel the same way.

God Bless

I agree!
God sure made some wonderful places and we as hunters get to see a lot of them. Seeing them at sunrise and sunset are special too. When my kids were small, when it rained I would say "God is watering His garden". Then we started calling anywhere, outside of a city, "God's Garden".

Me too,I guess am getting old and sometimes I just like to look at the little critters very early in the morning, and shoot film of white tails feeding around my stand.

Usually I get this from my buddies, "What ! you mean you didn't shoot that one?" LOL

I do enjoy nature very much.

Well said. You can't deny him if you really take the time to look.

Centennial valley---I thought for a minute that you were referring to the one that straddles the Montana/Idaho border .. Another beautiful place.
I know what you guys mean about letting them walk away..
I haven't shot a buck fro about 6 years now cause i decided i wasn't going to shoot just another (good) buck it would have to be a great buck.
Although i have shot a few nice whitetail does for the table..
I am, however, determined to get an elk this year, been three yeras since I shot one and the freezer is empty and the price of gas and beef is way too high. So , I am going to fill my freezer with an elk-maybe two if my daughter and or son get one too.
Great eating and better for you than hormone implanted beef.
If i get one, I will be sure to let you all know..

Take care:
