Default Allegiance to Islam?

The two FOX news reporters who were released this past week said that they were forced at gunpoint to convert to Islam or they would have been killed.

Now we know that any so-called "conversion" to Islam at gunpoint would have no real meaning because it was forced.

Here's the question.

If you were put in that position, knowing that a denial to say that you were converting to Islam would result in your death, your children fatherless and your wife a widow, would you "say" what they wanted to hear? Remember before you answer, it's meaningless since it's forced at gunpoint.

This should provoke some interesting thoughts.

Well one could make the same excuse during the tribulation. " I only took the mark cause they were going to behead me".

I think that the Lord gives christians the strength and words for such a situation.

Not knowing what these guys believe it is hard to say how much the compromised their beliefs.

Perhaps this type of thing is a precursor to what lies ahead

I would disagree Dave that it's meaningless. Mat 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
I would'nt say what I would do, but I hope that I could keep my resolve and die first.
That said, I would'nt judge the reporters, other than to say that they have been shamed before man and God. I would be very ashamed.

That last statement of yours is not true. It is not meaningless. I would not deny my Lord nor convert to Islam. He that loveth his life will lose his life.
This is why we practice dying daily. If you die you will live. If you choose to save your life you will lose it. Words of our savior ..not mine.

As An ex Viet Nam vet, I can really say, I don't know until confronted with that situation.I have said one thing and done another when fighting for my life. If one has never been faced with that particular situation, I don't believe they could honestly answer that one.

Amen Rev, and it's not out of the realm of possibility by no means that we may all be faced with this one day. Evil knows no bounds and a shot in the head may well be a blessing as there arre harder ways to die. It could very well be that it could be an unsaved loved one that will suffer death slowly based on our convictions. Pray rather what the Lord will accomplish in us rather than what we will do.

Yes Rev, I have mentioned this many times! I have mentioned that if someone put a gun to your head and told you tocurse the Lord and reject Him, will you?

No one replied!

Yes brother..and after He was filled with the Holy Ghost as we have been he gladly let them crucify him upside down. Without the Holy Spirit..I would say I'm not sure. With the Holy Ghost ..I say shoot me.
