Default Update on job situation

Well, I found out something good today. I'd been worried after this year they can give me my pink slip and I can kiss my retirement away.

LOL I got good news today. I called our state's capitol and as long as I work for a county or state agency in the state of Florida my retirement continues. When it's time to retire they take my top best years and average them out. I didn't realize that.

As far as the job. I see myself as a staff sergeant and my bosses as the captain and first lieutenant. I respect them because of their positions and everything has been fine. I've got 2 tough kids. One has a fifthy mouth and loves to push kids around. I snapped today and said in a LOUD VOICE. "Listen buddy. during these 8 hours these are my children and nobody messes with my kids! Have I made myself clear!!!!?? You do not have P.E the rest of August . You wil be sent to another class where you wil work on dictionary skills."

The principal seems to like me but it doesn't matter. I'm there for the kids. I still plant seeds. The job is tough but they pay me well andI love the 3 months off.

Yep! You can work in as many state gov job as you wantand it counts. You get credit for$5.00 pereach year you put in the system as a Stipend towards your Health Insurance. The max being 30yrs=$150. This is for as long as you live. The max that thestate pays on retirement is 33yrs.

My wife had 35yrs with the school board and gets $150 plus her retirement check for the max of 33yrs.She retired at 58 in May of2005and has to wait untill 62 for social security and untill she is 66 for medicare, cause she was born in 1947.

Edit:I had 3 with the Fire Dept. and 15 with the Sheriffs Dept.,I get $90 Stipend and retirement check for 18yrs. I retired at 64 in March of 2004 so i now get SS and Medicare.

Thanks
Just got done talking with Strut. He says if it keeps getting tough we can move in with him. Would that be awesome or what.I wouldn't really do that but that's the kind of folks I'd like to live around. God is good my brother. I can't believe the relationships I've gotten on this forum.
It just don't get any better.
