Default Time To Warn The Wicked

It's time like never before to warn the wicked!"The punishment of one wicked man or people always becomes a warning to all others." - Barnes' Notes"Most heinous sins bring most heinous judgments." "Let us take warning by all the instances of God's taking vengeance, which are recorded for our admonition, and to prevent our promising ourselves impunity, though we go on in a course of sin." "There is a day of judgment coming, when all those that refused the gospel will certainly be called to account for it; however they now make a jest of it. They that would not hear the doctrine that would save them, shall be made to hear the sentence that will ruin them." - all of the above quotes are from Matthew Henry Psalm 11:6 says very definitively - "Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup."What every wickedman and woman needs to know is that unless they repent, they are headed for abundant, sudden, furious, and utter destruction from the Lord Himself. He will "rain" it down on them as rain falling from heaven. There will be no barriers to hold it back. And the sinner will find no way of escape. The Scriptures tell us that - "...this shall be the portion of their cup." A "cup" in Bible terms is oftentimes a figure for God's plentiful or abundant favor or wrath. It is the "meat and drink" - so to speak - appointed by Him for an individual, city, or nation. There are three items that are listed here which depict what can be found in the "cup" of the wicked. They are as follows - "snares" - When he least expectsit, the sinner is held fast or imprisoned bygrievous plagues or judgments. It isas though he is beinghunted down like a wild beast in his career or course. He finds no way of escape. "horrible tempest" - This depicts afurious blast of wind that is so swift that it sweeps away houses and trees - causing a wide desolation. In the Hebrew, there is areference made here to the burning storm - the wrathwind - the Simoom - which has its suffocating winds that blow across the Arabian desert. "fire and brimstone" - Immediately, in hearing these two words coupled together, our attention is drawn to Sodom and Gomorrah - the twin citieswhich were destroyed by God Almighty for their ungodliness - "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven"(Genesis 19:24). They experienced a continual shower of sulphurous fire - burning flaming fire - which consumed its cities and inhabitants. Both Apostles - Peter and Jude - addressed the horrible judgment that fell upon these two wicked cities for their lasciviousness and perversion - 2 Peter 2:6 says - "And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly." Jude 1:7 says - "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." Both Peter and Jude mentioned the judgment of God on these two cities. Peter stressed the fact that they were reduced to ashes through means of "an overthrow." Jude stressed the eternal portion of their judgment. Not only did they suffer literal "fire" rained down on them from above, but they also have suffered and are suffering to this very day "the vengeance of eternal fire" in Hell. These two Preachersalso both emphasized the fact that Sodom and Gomorrahareheld up to view as a warning...displayed or exhibited...or laid out in plain sight as "an example"to others who should choose to "live ungodly"..."give themselves over to fornication"-all kinds of sexual or gross immorality or unnatural lusts...or "go after strange flesh" -homosexuality. The New Testament volumeof the Biblical Illustratoroffered the followingthought-provoking comments on these twoverses of Scripture -"Cities and inhabitants suffer for the evil of the inhabitants." "Sin can bring down the most magnificent cities." "Extreme judgments follow extreme sins." "No society of men or policy can hinder the judgment of God, which He will bring upon them for their sins." "They that are unto others examples of sin shall be also unto them examples of punishment." As horrible as the sin and punishment for sin was for Sodom and Gomorrah, yet the Scriptures warn us that there will be those who will suffer a greater damnation. You reply in utter amazement byinquiring - "What could be worse thangross immorality, unnatural lusts, or homosexuality?" Matthew 10:15 explains - "Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city." The Lord Jesus warned us of "aday of judgment" coming- that isfixed and appointed by God - when all will appear before Him - the Judge of all. Even though Sodom and Gomorrah had suffered the physical judgment on its cities and inhabitants and is presentlysuffering the eternal vengeance - yet the Lord said that there would be a people who would suffer a greater punishment. Who could these people possibly be? Matthew 10:14 gives the answer - "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet." In other words, even though Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to loathsome impurities and consequently suffered the fiery indignation of Almighty God and continue to do so todayin Hell fire, yet the people who reject the Truthof the Gospel will suffer greater damnation. Sodom and Gomorrah's punishment will be "more tolerable" than theirs. Let's draw some veryimportant conclusionshere -Any and all sin brings judgment. Heinous sins bring heinous judgments. Nonetheless, you may be a good, religious person reading this message today who has been despising and rejecting the Truth of God's Word. You refuse to be Born-Again just like the Bible says in John 3:3. You refuse to "repent" of your sins and turn your life completely over to Jesus. You may think that Sodom and Gomorrah "caught some fire" from God. You ain't seen nothin' yet! If you keep rejecting God's offer of salvation through the Blood of Jesus, you will meet with a greater punishment and judgment from Him. That's what Jesus said - and it isbest that you accept His words as truth! Church, it's time like never before that we warn the wicked! People are headed forsevere wrath and damnation in a devil's hell. Do you care? Would to God that we all would get stirred bythis message and go out and find ourselves a street corner - from wherewe can "sound the alarm" and wake the people up to the awful doom that awaits them! We leave you with Pastor Henry's words - "There is a day of judgment coming, when all those that refused the gospel will certainly be called to account for it; however they now make a jest of it. They that would not hear the doctrine that would save them, shall be made to hear the sentence that will ruin them."

My dear friends..
We are in the last days. I witness everyday at school. When we get attacked again or some tragedy hits..then the people will turn to God. It's the same old story. What we need to do as Christians is be consistant in our walk to show them what a Christian looks like.. The worse thing we can do as Christains is walk in a luke warm state. We need to lay aside every weight AND sin and run the race with patience. Trust me..the world is watching. In due time there wil be opportunity. The world is so black with sin now that strangers can just about tell we are Christians. We act different. We put our grocery carts back correctly. We are patient in grocery lines. We look diffeent We feel compassion for the millions goihjg to Hell and look for an open door to open our mouth. We ar instant in season and out of season.
