Folks I'm serious with this question. There has been alot of persecution in the middle east in the last years. They have my daily prayers. However; at my job I feel my new principal is a mini anti Christ. I'm not being harsh or funny. My wife cries often and the entire school huddles together to plan how we will survive. Because of NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. by the Bush Administration { Whom I voted for} the schools are going through impossible mandates. It would take too long to explain. I'm a very hyper ,quick working fellow ,but there is no way anyone can finish their jobs anymore. I plan to stay till 5:00 each day and work all day Sat. and then I already know it won't be good enough. We will be put on probaton and in one year lose our jobs. You are no longer allowed to walk in the office area or talk to secretaires or custodians .PERIOD When you try to talk with the principal you get 2 beady eyes trying to stare a hole through your head. I ask if I could use the office copier to make one copy since we " Haven't been trained on the new coier yet. The answer a waging of the head no. Dear friends without proclaiming my righteousness ..trust me I'm doing everything spiritual I know.....and it seems hopeless.
Are their any others going through similiar stuff. I plan to look for a different teaching job today. They have a way to look at a bar graph to see who the slackers are. My friends, my students had the best gains of the entire school last year. I have no idea what is going on. It wouldn't surprize me if I'll be asked to remove my King James Bible from my desk. This summer when we were off ...one teacher had many of her belongings trashed in the dumpster.
Again...are there any others going through this? The only good thing is other Christian teachers are swarming together praying like it was in the book of Acts. Denonmination doesn't matter. When there is persecution love over rides all denonminational walls. Folks please pray for me. I'm actually crying right now as I type.

Phil 1:28And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God.
Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 11corinth. 12:10
Stand firm in the word of God Chuck. May God bless and watch over you.

Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude. William James
It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome. William James
What seem our worst prayers may really be, in God's eyes, our best. Those, I mean, which are least supported by devotional feeling. For these may come from a deeper level than feeling. God sometimes seems to speak to us most intimately when he catches us, as it were, off our guard. C. S. Lewis
brother like i mentioned earlier via e-mail. i will be praying hard for you today, it will all work out, God will make a way

Amen brothers,
I appreciate that. Yeah..a boldness is arrising in me as I just read the book of Phillipians. Paul, while in prison tells us to "Rejoice in Lord and again I say rejoice." Count it a privledge to suffer . It'sa part of the package. If ya get a pink slip. Frame that puppy. How is everything going today??
Couldn't be any better.
God bless my Christian friends,

I plan to do what Paul and Silas did in Acts 16.....praise our loving saviour all day in my heart.
Chuck, after reading your post I'm curious. What level is your school? If you have a new principal because of NCLB it sounds to me like your school is a low level and has not shown improvement. Our school has a been a level 4 but I'm not sure if we made AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) because our student attendance was low last year, especially after Hurricane Katrina hit. The effects I've seen at our school is that it is tougher for teachers, especially for slackers. There is no room for slack! Every moment of the teacher's day except for their mandated break time is filled with meeting a benchmark, identifying students that need extra help, and providing or referring them with the help they need. It's especially hard for the teachers that have taught for years because they are so used to doing things their own way, but the thing is that if their own way is not doing the job of getting student test scores up then they have to start learning a new way and change can be hard (challenging)!
I would dread if the government had to come in and change our staff because of being a low level. It doesn't sound like fun, which is why our administrators are pushing harder for the teachers to do their job the way it needs to be done.
Religion has nothing to do with it. Our school is a praying school. At every staff meeting where we have a meal together, we pray before we eat. We have the 10 Commandments posted in every classroom. A student bible club meets after school one day a week at school. And Youth for Christ comes at least once a week after school to work with students. Who knows if that would have to change if our level goes down. So far that hasn't happened at any of the schools in our district.

Chuck, after reading your post I'm curious. What level is your school? If you have a new principal because of NCLB it sounds to me like your school is a low level and has not shown improvement. You are 100% correct. However some of us have done our jobs. We are all suffering for th efew who have been slacking. Wemade a C last year but have not shown the federal qualification of Annual Yearly Progress. Our handicapped children have not improved enough. They gave me 5 this year and mine will make it.Our school has a been a level 4 but I'm not sure if we made AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) because our student attendance was low last year, especially after Hurricane Katrina hit. Exactly 50% of our kids move because there are alot of migrant workers. High mobility rate. The effects I've seen at our school is that it is tougher for teachers, especially for slackers. There is no room for slack! Every moment of the teacher's day except for their mandated break time is filled with meeting a benchmark, identifying students that need extra help, and providing or referring them with the help they need. OK Same thing here.No nick knicks on the walls etc. It's especially hard for the teachers that have taught for years because they are so used to doing things their own way, but the thing is that if their own way is not doing the job of getting student test scores up then they have to start learning a new way and change can be hard (challenging)! Extremely..but in all honestly Liz...they can pull up my stats. My way does work.I have a very good program for teaching phonemes, phonics and fluency. I don't even mind the change ...it's just that oppressive spirit that comes with it.
I would dread if the government had to come in and change our staff because of being a low level. It doesn't sound like fun, which is why our administrators are pushing harder for the teachers to do their job the way it needs to be done. The government step will be next year if we don't make AYP this year.
Religion has nothing to do with it. Our school is a praying school. At every staff meeting where we have a meal together, we pray before we eat.We have the 10 Commandments posted in every classroom.WOW I can't see our school doing that. That is great Liz.A student bible club meets after school one day a week at school. And Youth for Christ comes at least once a week after school to work with students. Who knows if that would have to change if our level goes down. So far that hasn't happened at any of the schools in our district. That's awesome to hear about the Christian activities. Thanks for the reply.
Brother Chuck
Have you ever heard about the verse where the eagle stirs the nest? Sometimes when the Lord wants to make a change in us,either vocationally, or in our inner man , He allows such pressure. Look at the life of Joseph. He continued to do right , and yet was being handed injustice after injustice, yet it all had a purpose. I don't pretend to know or to be able to say if what you are experiencing is persecution or not, but I do know that when we are uncertain or we are certain, the remedy is the same--submit to God and resisst the devil, and he will flee from you. There is no authority over the devil until we are under the authority of Christ. If you take your concerns to Him and submit your self to His will, whether He is actually disciplining, developing, or allowing persecution that will , in the long run, always work together for your good, then you are assured that it won't be detrimental to you. Satan's purposes become His tool, as Joseph said--what you meant for my harm, God meant for my good. It may take some time and be uncomfortable, but by submission and resistance, you will come through as Joseph did--with a defined and divine purpose behind the seeming injustices.
