Default Father forgive them......

Question, When Jesus hang dying on the cross some of his last words was "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". I suppose he was referring to the people that was actually killing him, We know the thief on the cross was forgiving, my question is, was the people that killed Jesus forgiven on the spot like the thief?

The only people Jesus died for, the only people forgiven of their sins were/are/will be the Holy Church.

I've been doing my best to take a break from here but Strut ask me to reply so I will. He's my hunting partner for Pete's sake.

Good question there Randy...IMHO The entire mob was really acting crazy. I believe Jesus looked beyond the outward and looked deep into their hearts and seen that they truly "Do not know what they do." Yes that would include the crowd crying out crucify Him as well as the cruel soldiers as well as the jealous religious leaders. Our Lord looks beyond the surface and sees the heart. He saw how seroiusly ignorant those folks were.
As the song goes concerning us.."He looked beyond our fault and saw our need."

That is an interesting question . Only God knows who is saved and who are not.
2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Hey..I'm starting to feel like I'm being talked to by a pushy car salesman.LOL [8D]The God of this perfect universe has everything perfectly under control. However ; our minds are limited. We see through a glass dimly. Concerning this subject..I certainly do not have all the answers. We simply live by faith. If everything was black and white it wouldn't be faith.

Chuck, thanks for answering, Just give mgman a little time and hewill get himselfbanned again.

mgman your abrasivness goes nowhere, People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. You are one unique individual and your form of teaching can't change apparently and is very recognizable.
