I have always believed in God but never have felt a stong pull to him. I hear people say they have a personal relationship with him and thats what I want to say. I don't want to say it however if I don't feel it in my heart.
I have prayed for it but still nothing.
With you was it a lighting bolt thing or was it something that happens very slow. How did it happen for you.

Alex is joking, but there is a lot of truth in what he said. God found me also . . . . . .kinda showed me WHO was boss. My story goes back 41 yrs to a little baptist church. I was 15 and going to a vacation bible school. . . . .there were a many a twists and turns after that before the road started getting kinda straight 16 yrs ago.

For me it wasn't a lightning bolt that hit me or anything, but a relationship that has been growing for several years now. Keep praying and getting into the Word, God will speak to you. Don't get discouraged, there is an adversary that will do everything he can to hinder your growth, such as make God seem "unreal" to you. You have to have an open heart, and accept the Lord as he is, and he will accept you as you are, then mold you into the person you were meant to be "in Him". I will be praying for you my friend, and welcome to the site.

Like Alex said, God was never lost, I was.. But we do get your question. I was brought up in religion all my life, but I never knew I had to surrender to Him. In Viet Nam 1968 God opened my blind spiritual eyes. Two fellow troopers told me about Jesus, and to this day I fight tears each time I think of what He did for me.. For I am not worthy of His sacrifice. 1981 He spoke directly to me. A life changing experience. Bob <><
welcome kybuck, keep praying, God will deliver, BTW, it was slow and gradual for me, but i'm hard headed like that, and just kept trying to prove that my way would work, all it ever got me was heart-ache and misery, Gods plan is the only true path to happiness,

RE: So how did you find God?
Slow and gradual for me too but it has been going on for a long time since I am almost 58. I always tried to live the golden rule type existance but it is far easier now that I am older and wiser. I get all my messages through my heart. In the beginning they were hard to hear but now they ring out.
