Default Forgiveness. ???

Dear beloved,
I've noticed a great paradox here. I spend a good time on the Off Season. Over there you have a good mixture of all kinds of folk. One thing for sure though ...they are quick to let by gones be by gones in less than a day.And we are talking about some pretty course words at times.

However; on here that does not happen. I know there are some of you who will not reply to me ever again. I for one could not live with such bitterness. We are called to lstrive to live at peace with ALL men. I've seen post asking for prayers even and still some won't even reply to one who is dying or in need. My friends...your listening to the wrong voice. That is not God. You will simply be forgiven in the matter you forgive..you will recieve the same amount of mercy as you have given.

You may say..well you don't reply to my post. IF and when I don't reply they are simply for the following reasons.
1. If I sense a post or reply is a snare to lead us into divisions...you are right I will advoid the post but if that5 same person has a neutral post..certainly I will reply. I don't hate anyone on here bu tI do advoid certain subjects.

2. If we are conversing and one decides to be rude...I'll not reply . I won't get bitter and certainly if that one needs prayer I will reply. Bitterness only rips teh person off who is nurturing that spirit.

Again ...learn from the folks off of Off Season....shake the offence off give a hug and go on.
Be Nice!!

Chuck, I find you to be a very good example of how we ought to conduct ourselves. I don't agree with all of your understandings of scripture as I am certain many don't agree with mine.

But in the art of forgiving, yousurpass every one here.

Thanks for a being a very good example.

Thanks

Mr. Pirk ,
I do appreciate the encouraging word. And I hope you believe me when I say I've probably passed you all up together in sinning. I know I need grace and mercy. While i was washing my truck a few minutes ago the Lord put it heavy on my heart some of those who refuse to let go and walk in forgiveness. ...actually there are many. For me , to live that way one must forget their own need for forgiveness. I do know the whole deal is of the enemy ...Could you imagine the power we would have in prayer if we all got in one accord. Seriously ..even for ONE DAY!!

Thanks again Mr. Pirk. and know that there is nothing weird between you and I .If there is ever a problen I'll PM you personally,

Chuck this maybe a little off-topic for your intentions of this thread, but I for one would find an in-depth discussion of exactly what forgiveness is, to be interesting.

To my mind it is this:

No longer harboring any ill-will towards a person for any wrong, real or imagined.

It also entails the asking of God"™s forgiveness for those who have wronged us.

We have all fallen short. Hell is a terrible place. I pray that no one winds up there.

I once had a debate with a fellow Christian about forgiveness and the State.

There was a point raised that in a Christian country there should be no prisons, because as Christians we are taught to forgive and stop any on going punishment for any perceived wrong doing.

My reply was that we as citizens are taught to personally forgive, yet the State has the God-given duty to make certain that those who do wrong are punished.

Your thoughts?

Thanks
mr-pirk

Brother, material things and finances does not make one a better person. The only thing that makes a man is his faith and his word. If a poor man has these qualities, he's a rich man!

Actually no study needed.
If something is dear to ones heart it should be in one's heart.

I for one do not like haveing bad days. There aer certain things that will guarantee you to have a bad day.

1. Argueing with your wife is is not wise. Your day and hers is blown.

2. When we fail to forgive we cut off our relationship with God. For..if you can't forgive others ..God can't forgive you { And I hate going through a day without God guiding me.,,it's a wasted day at best.]

Sorry Mr. Pirk ..you ask what is forgiveness.

In my humble opinion I believe this.

1. When a brother / sister ask you for forgiveness {Seldom do] then you are obligated to forgive them..not trust them We are not obligated to trust...but forgive.

Forgiveness is powerful ..to me it means Lord , do not lay this sin on them. I have chosen to forgive them.
Example ....you made some passes at my wife . She told me and you admitted it. You ask for forgiveness. I will forgive you but I do not want you coming over my house anymore. Trust is earned and I do not trust you. I do however know the seriousness of Hell and do not wish Hell on you. I choose to forgive you.

Often on here there are those who offend and will probably never ask for forgiveness. They see no need because of a lack of understanding.
not knowing ...bitterness is also responsible for disease and sickness as well. Anyway....to keep your own self from getting sick or bitter I will pray for that person. The Bible tells us it's easy to love those who love us ..but be like God and love your enemies. So I pray for them ..lest I get bitter as well. Does it still hurt.? You betcha. I hurt daily on here when I see certain screen names of folk I know can't stand me. Did folks hate Jesus ..Certainly ..And David said , My enemies are more than the hairs on my head.

IN conclusion ...we are responsible to pray and forgive all men if they ask or not." Father forgive them for they know not what they do."
And especially those who ask. Do we trust them again. Each circumstance will dictate a different answer.

Do we forget....some things take time to heal Mr. Pirk. We should never rehash the stuff though. Let it go.

Amen Reb...I forgive Chris for standing me up, I need the exercise as well. I would really hurt myself in this situation not to forgive.

Chuck, I have one thing to add to this. Someone need not ASK us for forgiveness in order to be forgiven (my wife has reminded me of this in the past ). Harboring sin because someone has failed to beg our forgiveness doesn't not allow us an "out."
