Default Paying for religion

Here in Southeastern, PA we have a church that is quite money hungry.. My cousin and his wife are members of A presbyterian church. His wife was sick for a few weeks and they didnt attend. The church called and asked where the weekly envelopes were. My cousin told them that since they hadnt been there in a few weeks that there were no envelopes. The church said ok. We will need those envelopes when you attend church next time. My cousin said that he didnt feel that he needed to turn in those envelopes since they werent in attendance. The church told them that if they wanted to return to that church that they needed to hand in the past due envelopes as well as the current envelope. They never returned. The pastor of the church makes 90k per year. This is crazy.

What the pastor makes is really between him and the chuch. I know some pastors that make three times that and others that don't make a cent... A Pastor should never know what a person gives, that is between God and man.. I wouldn't retun to that church either. Sounds like he need to find a good church..

Wow ! That is bold, I wouldn't return either.
In my church we have a box at the entrance people put what they can and we never talk about giving or prosperity, we know prosperity is automatic.

Reasons to leave that church.
1. For what you just wrote about.
2. They do not believe all of the Word is inspired of God.
3, They do not believe in Hell..not sure about heaven
Find another church my friend. Study your Bible first and find one that is compatable with the Word of God.

i think your cousin and his wife made the best choice, big buildings, fancy cars and such don't impress me, that chruch sounds to be sending the wrong message IMO,its whats inside that'll be important

I will never go to a church that: Has radio broadcast, is on a televised net work, stand on corners asking for money or has a net work on sale items.
These are the churches that need one's support to maintain it's operations to exist.
