whats ur guys feelings out there about this.... i read it and honestly dont see what all the uproar is about. dan brown is an author.. he can write whatever he wants its his book. he uses that book for entertainment..and i think he did a good job i really enojoyed it. it didnt shake my faith at all.

I rather liked the book. I'll wait for the movie to come out on video, just because I don't really like spending $40 on any movie.
As for the story itself, it's just fiction. Dan Brown didn't even come up with it himself. It's from an older book, supposed to be non-fiction, called Holy Blood, Holy Grail. The "researchers" made so many assumptions and leaps of faith, that it could hardly be considered serious research.
I think what makes "Da Vinci Code" so interesting, is it's easier to read, and so the mainstream public read it in mass. Also, the Church's, and Christian population in gereral, reaction to it is what made it so controversial. Had they just ignored it like most other books and movies, it would not have made such an impact.
The story of the Grail, the Crusaders, and the Knights Templar, have been big money makers from time to time throughout history. That's the bottom line. If no one made money writing books or making movies, it would not have ever been done.

perhaps what you say is accurate- in your case-but there are many, many people who are seeking the truth and have no one to give it to them and they will go see this and come away with the obstinate belief that it is true and accurate..
That is where the danger lies, in those lies...
How many will simply accept that rubbish for the truth, because they know no better... And it is an abomination in my eyes because of what it says about our saviour...
Regardless of what you may think about it personally, to submit that it does no harm is really disingenuous, at best....
I am not, by any stretch of the imagination an alarmist, but Everyone here knows exactly why this movie was made....To tear down our Lord and saviour... and open the door for those that may not be as learned as we are, to a dark path..
I would not wish to be the one who pointed the finger at Christ and made those ridiculous implications... And i certainly would not want to stand in front of my Lord and Saviour and have the impossible task of explaining why i stood by and let it happen, much less giving it any plausibility..
And if you do not condemn it for what it is, you give it your approval by doing nothing...
I, for one, will stand in defence of my Lord just as he has done for me all my life...

My pastor just preached on it last week. He said it was a terrible book. "Dan Brown does his best at disproving the Word of God." To say Jesus married Mary Magnalene is crazy. . He's already married. He's married to the church. "The harmful thing our pastor said was that "Weak Christains or people seeking God will read that book believing that it's scriptural. " I already know some Christians who have read it and believe it's of the Lord. The book denies Jesus being anything more than a prophet or good teacher. I never read the book nor will I, but if that is the case it's a tool of Satan if ya ask me.

I used to think, whats the big deal, just fiction. But then started thinking about it.
Most of us here believe that God is almight, all knowing, created the universe, and is a perfect being. Most of us here believe Jesus was Christ and was diety.
This book/movie is dangerous and totally evil. It totally disrespects the God of the universe. I mean could you just imagine God. Everybody that has even came close to seeing him has been so frighened and have fell to thier face. When I try to even imagine the greatness of God, It hurts my head. I can't comprehend it. I think about looking up at the sky and seeing this hand taking up the entire sky, cause its so huge, and a face that is so big, I can't even make out the eyes. And so bright and glorious, I can't even glance at him. And yet some guy is going to make a movie just for fun and entertainmentdisrespecting this almight glorious perfect being that has made all things possible.
Kinda put in perspective, lets say you have the mob in your hometown. And true enough, you could turn alot of thier experiences into satires or twist it around for just entertainment.You could makea school playmaking fun of thier life. But you wouldn't dare put your family or property at risk. And they are just mortals. But you think its good fun to disrespect God with some sort of fiction that basically says Jesus wasn't our savior, and wasn't diety.
