Default It's time to repent!

I talk to many people and ask them about why they do certain things and they tell me. "Well, I am not ever going to be perfect. Jesus died for all my sins, past, present and future. So whats the use in trying to be perfect. I know I am saved and it doesn't matter if I sin or not, my sins are under the cross."

I have been on a serious crusade to bring peopletorepent. I think it's time not only for individuals to repent, but the Nation as a whole. I feel God's wrath is about to unleash because of our sin.

What are some of your thoughts. We can all dig up scripture for repentance... I want to know how you feel about a Christian living with a known sin... Example.. lust of the flesh, pride, lying tongue, etc..

I agree brother. Christians are being fellowshippers with adulterous and murders and partaking with them as they sit and watch filth and violence on T.V. It is an idol. We feel the need to be entertained in our homes and in our churches. In the classroom I must keep my students entertained to keep up with their video minds. I visited a conservatist church this year. Most kids were playing Gameboys while the sermon was going on. Satan is keeping us on the move and entertaioned while the world is going to Hell on a greased pole. We have this treasure in earthen vessels and will have to give an account one day as why we loved this present world more than obeying His command of sharing the gospel. We are all called to share the gospel ...not only pastors and missionairies but everyone of us. I exhort you to unplug the worldly TVs and put them away . I encourage families to get out the Word and read it together and pray. Repent from the mindset of we are called to play and to be entertained. Hunters...how many guns are enough.??Fishermen ...how many rodsare enough.? How much time is enough to spend on these hobbies. We are dead in Christ ..therefore " Set your affections on things above .not on things of this world." We are to worship the creator ..not the creation. God deliver us from this present love of the world in Jesus name
Amen.

Amen Chuck... We are earthen vessels.. God is looking for some clean vessels to use.. Amen again.. I am glad I am not the only one on that bandwagon.. I get accused of being a fanatic... Glory......

We need to bring every thought to the perfect obedience of Christ..

Amen rev and great post, guilty BTW, i'm tryin to do the best i can, i used to hear my dad say this nation is being "dumbed down" i thought how is that possible, but we are living proof of it everyday[&o], its time to get closer to God. this nation need its worse right now than i can ever remember[&o], on a bright note though, i had a friend call me today, he says he needs a change in his life, he said he could see what God had done for me (in short order i might add) and he needed a new perspective on life, i think he may be willing to leave "the ways of the world"

more later, keith

Revelation 3:17For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

PS Thanks Motor for the kind words.

Amen Keith.
I am glad to see how your change will make a difference... It's better to let them see what God has done in our lives, than to stand on a soap box and preach to them all day long.. Great testimony!

rev, when someone comes to you and notices a change for the better, it has to be a good thing, and the feeling is undescribable, the oppertunity to bring someone closer feels really good, the amazing thing to me is how much i have changed and howmuch the post here have helped me, it helps me to study/read everyday, anything i question, i talk with our preacher, then i study, and study, and study, the scriptures, one thing i know we all seek the same ending, thank you for being such an inspiration
