Colonel,
You have the rest of the Florida birds I need down there in Florida. I need the birds from Miami to the keys. I would most likely need an 80MM spotting scope to see them flying above the ocean.

Wy hawks, vultures, eagles- they all seem to like fresh meat(or even if its a lill old) But i dont feed them i just watch them a bit & the white pelicans.

Only ones we do feed is the summer hummers- winter is to windy for feeders but we do throw some seed on the ground sometimes or hang pieces of fat- so not to much feeding do we do or is there the numbers or varity of smaller colorfull birds like down in the south.

Chuck, I got home this evening and one of my feeders was just about 1/2 full and the otherI saw 2 little birds on it, one was real brite yellow with just a little black on his wings and the other looked like the same kind of bird but with just a little yellow tint to it and alot of brown, I imagine somekind of finch, really nice to see the little boogers. Also had one sitting on the edge of the bird bath Shirley got, first one I have even saw close to it LOL, I told her its big enough to give a buzzard a bath LOL.

I checked your Missouri checklist out. It caused me to sin .I'm burning with jealousy. They only visit a few feeders in Florida during Dec. and they are both brown then. The male may have a hint of a pale yellow . However...the wings stay black.

New to bird watcing, although one of my sons has been at it for a long time.
I have put up 4 bluebird houses. Not a whole lot of them up here, but they are coming back ,I believe. American finches, we are loaded with. They are a very active little thing. And of course tree swallows. We also have a bunch of Grossbeaks, the males are beautiful. But I have a book to identify and I am interested.

What state are ya from.?? I only have one female Rosebreasted Grosbeak under my belt and would not have gotten that except an Audubon man pointed it out. What kind of grosbeaks are you seeing?
