Today in church I heard these versus yet I got confused when I started to ponder on it...
Leviticus 19:33-34
33 " 'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. 34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Luke 9:3-5
[God] said to the apostles, "When you travel, don't take a walking stick. Also, don't carry a bag, food, or money. Take for your trip only the clothes you are wearing. When you go into a house, stay there until it is time to leave. If the people in the town will not welcome you, go outside the town and shake their dust off of your feet. This will be a warning to them
I am against illegals in our country but after this verse what should one think? How many true christians can actually support removing illegals and call them self a true christian? When I see the polls on people wanting to put fences up and remove them I wonder if we are a true christain nation...Some help on this would be appreciated...
Smokeman, in every race, there's trailer trash, but not all of them. They are God's children also and we must try to minister to the non-christians and treat them kind.
"Do unto other's, As you would wantother's do unto you"

Besides that a nation cannot allow foreigners to dictate its future, also one has to weigh in the benefits physically and spiritually.
Living in Miami Fla, I have seen the spiritual impact of aliens bringing in satanic cults ,such as Santeria , brujeria and Voodoo.
Just Friday, the county and Dept of Envioremental protection and the Railroad authorities ,came into an agreement to remove the carcasses of sacrificed animals from railroad crossings in Miami Dade County.
They finally decided it was a health issue as many neighborhoods were infected by the stink of rotting animals , that were dumped on railroad crossings, according to the african rituals animals must be disposed of on railroad crossings or cemetery entrances.
Some neighborhoods could not even step outside their houses due to the flies and stinge, the county and the railroad authorities could not decided who had the honor of dispossing of these carcasses.
The amount of people that come to our church whoa re demon possess from this practices have increased 1000% in the past 10 years.
So when you allow Satan in, guess what he takes over.
Second of all the political fall out will be inmesuarable in the future, if South Americans, who live in a 3rd world countries, earn the right to vote ,they already surpass the black minority in votes, they can change the face of this nation and turn this nation into a third world country, people tend to continue with the same ideas they learn in their country of origin.
Again Miami is a good example, the Cuban influence in the 1960s was great for the area, as cubans who came then were the cream of the crop, business people, doctors Lawyers, land owners etc. They came as political and religious persecuted people not as immigrants
they took a city that was in decline and built a metropolis, but they introduced a second language to the area, thus making it easier for other none refugees to come and set up a different idea of third world poverty.
although the cuban community is thriving having 22 State Legislators in office in the State , 3 Congressmen and 1 senator in Washington, 15 Mayors Etc, the rest of the immigrants from south American countries have set up shop, with roadside illegal vending of all kinds and weird religious practices.
They Just don't get ahead as Cubans did, due to their Low education.
So I think a country needs to choose who comes and works and stays here, it is foolish in this day and age to have open borders.
Our church work with these people, but I can't help to see the disbenefits of illegal migrations.
We supply food for 1500 families, drug rehab, clothing distribution, all of this takes a great monetary effort.

I did some research and found this after looking a bit..
Question: "How does God view illegal immigration?"
Answer: Romans 13:1-7 makes it abundantly clear that God expects us to obey the laws of the government. The ONLY exception to this is when a law of the government forces you to disobey a command of God (Acts 5:29). Illegal immigration is the breaking of a governmental law. There is nothing in Scripture that would contradict with obeying immigration laws. Therefore, it is a sin, rebellion against God, to illegally immigrate into another country. Romans 13:1-7 also gives the government the authority to punish lawbreakers, whether it be by deportation orimprisonment (in the cases of illegal immigration), or more severe penalties for greater crimes. So I guess what we are doing is allright according to the laws...This would be the same as ceasars and paying him his money because it is his law and is not breaking Gods law.. Correct?
Leviticus 19:33-34
33 " 'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. 34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Yeah, but who's law is right or wrong?

Back to the drawing board...Thanks for the confusion again Rebel Hog.
If I could cross the border and find work that would provide a better life for my family , I would do just that.
Many Mexicans would come correctly but it takes yrs and yrs to do that. . . .as far as obeying the law of the land, thats an excuse for our justification as one would only have to speak to an IRS agent , or stand out by any interstate in America to see that the law of the land is observed only when the consequences are more than we want to pay.
I agree that illegal immigration is a problem but I can't see fighting it by mistreating or turning in a man that is only trying to provide a better life for his family . . .usually at a job that you would have to force most white men today to do.
At any rate, I'm not living in a one room shack on a dirt floor with eight other people drinking dirty water, so I don't know that I would think much of the laws of the land if I could do better by jumping a fence.

That law of the land of course as long as it doens't contradict Jesus's teachings. Goodness Rebel this is easy stuff. Even for a bonehead like me.
Bottom line, illegals are illegals. What? Should we let them just keep coming in sucking up all resources until equalibium takes place and we are just as poor as Mexico.

At least the Mexicans areChristians and the 55,000 legalIraqis just in Deerfield, Michigan alone are not.Over 5,000have businesses there and collect money for their cause and their country.
The mexicans are greatful to be in this country and the children that are born here, serve in our military and fight for this country and believe in our God.

I kinda look at things on a personal level. There are many reasons today to be concerned about illegal aliens. For the big picture and what needs to be done . . .really all I can do is vote for folk with solutions.
In this part of the country, it has only been recently that Hispanics have been on the scene.
If I were to let the illegal immigrant "issue" sully my spirit I would be viewing every Mexican I see as illegal and even possibly a terrorist. The truth is as far as I know, many . .if not most are here legally. And what if I do see one that doesn't have a work visa, . . .whattaya do . .shoot him? . . .turn him in? . . .and if you find anyone that will listen they'll just bus him back to Mexico, only to return again.
With many of us the subject may go deeper than illegal aliens, but includes immagrants in general, national security, etc. One thing for sure, the worlds changing and like it or not we're prolly going to come in contact with cultures not our own and our "norm" will no longer be. As a christian I would be certain that I deal with my opinions of "illegal aliens" in context with what is Godly when dealing with individuals.
