Hey..
Now I know why you are so nice. You are from Missouri. I told my wife about the folks in Missouri and she didn't beleive me. After our first stop in a Mc Donalds she found out I was right. Folks who didn't even know us came and sat right at our table and talked to us like we had been friends for years. There were plenty of other tables but they sat right beside us. Friendly as all get out. The terrain is very hilly though and one must have excellent driving skills or you may run off the road or kill someone on the many blind spots. Anyway...now i know why you are so nice. When you meet a Christian in Missouri you are doubly blessed.

Thanks for the nice words Chuck. It must be in the water?

Anyway, I agree with your observations. It's a nice state with lots of great things to see. Some of my favorites are the state parks. You really should see Elephant Rocks state park and the Taum Sauk area as well...though Taum Sauk is a little messed up right now. It's still a beautiful area.

Grasshopper,

My wife is about like a box turtle around where we live at. She doesn't communicate with people much. I told her about Missouri but I don't think she beleived me. From the time we crossed the state line and went to the Mc Donalds at Thayer she found out I was telling the truth. Folks move on a muuch slower pace and are very friendly. The country side is gorgeous. In Florida we have the waterbirds and there are many species. In Missouri you folks have the songbirds...and man that is a joy. There were alot of these. Indigo Bunting

and the Summer Tanager was awesome too.

Love those birds.

I have not traveled through the states. However a few years ago the family traveled accross Canada from our home in Alberta to Newfond land in the east.

As we went east we found the people we met in Saskatchewaan were nice, friendly and pleasent. Then into Manatobaa where the people we met were friendly, nice and pleasent. Into Ontario we found the people to be friendly, pleasant and nice. The folks in Quebec were pleasent nice helpful and friendly. New Brunswick was full of friendly, nice and helpful people....I think you can see where I'm going. There are nice people everywhere you go and there are probably some less than nice types where ever you go too. I might add that it seems to me I have met "more" open and friendly and trustingpeople in smaller towns than in big cities.

Robin down under; where there are some very nice, friendly helpful people here in Australia.

Duffy,
I've never been to canada.I bet it's beautiful. I do beleive in Satanic influences over cities and towns. I drive through some and discern great oppression. I'm simply saying when I drove through the few towns in Missouri thatI did not sense that. I'm sure there are other great towns as well. One easy way to compare is ro pull up the crime stats on given towns. IN 2002 this town I visited had one crime reported....Loitering.
I'd say that is a very safe town.

I've been to quite a lot of different states, I've been to Missouri before and can tell you that for the majority of it, it is nice and pleasant with good people. However, one town St. Roberts is a little different. One part of the town is nothing but Hotels, the other part is strip bars, pornographic stores, and prostitution.

i think it goes back to what duffy said, there are nice people all over (as well as some bad), i also agree that the smaller towns generally are nicer, even though they have there cliquies, but i also enjoyed missouri, and duffy, the trips i have had to canadahave been great, spent a day in winnapeg and then we traveled over on the manitoba/sask border, right outside a little town called russel, great folks, another thing winnipeg was a very clean city and the drive from winn to russel on route 1 i was amazed that there were no beer cans everywhere, no mcdonalds wrappers, i tell you the people there love and respect there property and it is very pleasing, here everybody liiters like you would not believe, our lakes and streams are filled with garbage, it is very disturbing, people will throw out whatever right in front of other people, like it is accepted behavior[:@]

ya'll have a great day, keith

Yep! We have Saint Petersburg, which is a heavy port for drugs.
