Guys, I work for a logistics provider. We find trucks for companys to haul their freight. I've been here for six months now and have seen some things that I don't agree with but I have done worse before and know that I am guilty of it. Anyways, I am trying to live my life as honestly as I can as well as trying to live it in a pleasing way to GOD. I've been in situtations here where a load didnt get picked up on time or something went wrongand the owners of the company told me to basically make up a story or lie to tell the customer. This morning it happend and one of the owners who goes to church and is a christian I think, told me to call a customer and let them know that we still didnt find a truck to pickup a load of theirs in Arkansas and he told me to tell them we had a truck fall off the load and were still looking for a truck to pick-it up. My answer to him was "did we actually have a truck for this load?" and he says "they don't know that and when did become a confessional". Like I said I'm trying to live my life as honest as possible. What do you all think? Can I still be a Christian and work here?
Goodness, thats a tough one. You have a lot of tough one. I used to be put on the spot by my company and lie and steal, and decieve. Fortuately, I don't have to do that anymore, and don't think I could. I couldn't lie. If I had a family and mouths to feed, might be a different story. I just don't know, but think thats great that you are thinking about it. I will try to pray about it for ya. Maybe to guide you.
I have to do the same thing. I can't explain because I don't wantto get in trouble. I wil say often when dealing with numbers we are forced to manipulate the numbers at times. I have no problem with it in my business...teaching and passing children. There are times I have children do EXTRA credit.alot of extra credit...to get a 2.0 so they can pass.

JD that is sad that you are even put into that position, I know for a fact that I would be a lot further ahead in my company if I kissed a little butt, smoothed over something bad, told a white lie or simply kept my mouth shut when it comes to a situation that the customer should be aware of.
I am not going to say I have not told a white lie or smoothed something over, but even though I may not be as high in my job as I could of been, I do feel good knowing that when some one wants the real status of something without the BS they come to me.
JD I am not totally aware of the job situation in your area or what the possible fall out might be for you if you told the truth all the time so I can not honestly say what I would do. Prayer is in order I feel.

Sometimes one has to take a supervisor aside and speak the truth in love. Explain that this goes against your Christian convictions.. But this must be done after prayer and fasting to insure your speaking words of wisdom.God has blessed me with a Christian business partner, and we don't have to deal with those issues. Do we mess up, yes, we admit it, correctit, and go one serving our customers.
