Default how you look at things

i had heard this before but since Floyd patterson just passed i thout it would be fitting, he was a true fighter, notice the last thing on this post, talk about a good attitude,

Quote:
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (AP) - Floyd Patterson, an undersized champion who avenged an embarrassing loss to Ingemar Johansson by beating him a year later to become the first boxer to regain the heavyweight title, died Thursday. He was 71.[/align]
Patterson died at his home in New Paltz, N.Y. He had Alzheimer's disease for about eight years and prostate cancer, nephew Sherman Patterson said.

Patterson's career was marked by historic highs and humiliating lows. He won the title twice, but took a beating from Muhammad Ali in a title fight and was knocked out twice in the first round by Sonny Liston.
Patterson, who weighed only 189 pounds for the first fight, was a tenacious boxer who often fought bigger opponents - and almost as often found himself on the canvas. He was down a total of 19 times in his career, getting up 17 of them.

"They said I was the fighter who got knocked down the most, but I also got up the most," Patterson once said.

Psalm37 :23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

wonderful object lesson... I wonder sometimes about whether God has a say as to when/if you get back up. I think about John the Baptist..I think about Paul...I think about John ending up on Patmos..and the others, when there was no more getting back up..... not all falls are of our doing.

thanks for you insight and thought and i know we have all been dealt with some painful blows and shots, after my dad called to inform me of Floyds death, iremembered what my dad had said years ago and why i remembered this, he told me, "never give up, or in, stick to what you know is right and what youbelieve in, many, many, forces will come between right and wrong, the choices you make will determine if you were right or wrong". i refuse to give in, i will continue to fight the good fight.
