Default question

I have a question. I recieved an email from a customer of ours thanking me the great work that I do for them. Ever since I read this email this morning it has made me feel good about it and myself. Is this wrong of me? Isn't this pride?

Absolutely not, do you feel you are better then other people? If the answer to the question is no then it is not pride.

There is nothing in the world wrong with feeling good because someone complimented you.

NO! Your not patting yourself on the back, someone else is doing it. Sure if feels good when someone brags on you. After all that's one of the things that motivates us to do better work.

Not at all. That is good my friend. Recieve it as though it's coming from the Lord.

Ok, I by no means am a expert, and probably should be replying this post. I am that bad. But after some studying and reading. I believe as long as you understand your not doing anything other than giving in to the will of God. And he's doing the rest.

Now when you feel like your the man, and its all you, yea it may be pride.

I myself struggle with this. Sometimes I feel I understand, and its in my grasp, but then loose it.

I read this book by Andrew Murray about Humility. It really opened my eyes, and I probably should reread it. Its hardcore. I think we as humans pat ourselves on the back to much and think way to high about ourselves. We are not good people. We deserve to have a firey eternity. We are just so lucky for God's amazing grace.

Here's a link to it. Its very difficult reading but really an eye opener. Like I said, I guarantee you, you probably have more of a grasp on pride than I so I shouldn't be replying. But I try to improve every day.

You might want to suggest it for a group study. Made it a whole lot easier on me.

..wonder how Jesus felt, when God said" this is my Son, in whom I'm well pleased"...? I bet he felt just like you did, and that's not wrong.
