Default In Christ Alone

The lyrics to this song are beautiful. Let them be an encouragement to you today...

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
"Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin"s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life"s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
"til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I"ll stand

Thanks Fro,

The youth out there need a good youth pastor. As a father of 3 I'm serious.Good youth pastors are extremely rare. It's probably one of the highest callings and honor a Christain could have. Our youth today is certainly a high risk mission field. We use High risk in school meaning to identify those kids who need immediate help in reading.Well our population of youth today is EXTREME HIGH RISK. Let us know if you have any needs. The youth is a ministry worth supporting.
God speed.

It is truely amazing that the very same God Whose Law dictates that disobedience to it, results in Eternal Death, is also the very same God Who loving bears the punishment of His Beloved Children, so that they can conquer that Death, and have Eternal Life.

Chuck... I've seen more EXCELLENT youth Pastors beat down, due to status-threats (for lack of better term) by the Sr. pastors. When the Youth Groups are growing faster than the adult congregation,I've seen the jealousy that can result...and I understand why. I don't condon it, I understand it. to a Pastor, the guage of success is Growth of his church..IN NUMBERS. When the "membership",(we all know what joining/becoming a member is about here folks) isn't keeping pace with other area churches( they DO compare, even in the same denomination), yet the YOUTH is growing expedentially...a Pastors' under the scope. it's ALL about #'s... don't believe me?... check out ANY denoms general counsels' yearly meeting pamphlets,( some available online), you'll see where they break the figures down to the n'th degree.
now.. WHAT DID GOD TELL DAVID ABOUT NUMBERING HIS PEOPLE ???????

unless Hes' changed his attitude about such things, since then.............

Sadly enough it does seem to be only about numbers. That's where I get off the boat. I could care less about "numbers" they mean absolutely nothing. Numbers tell me that a youth group can be 300 strong and then we the kids hit college age...maybe 20 will remain in the faith. That's what the numbers tell me.

I'm not out there to have the biggest youth group or the most kids. I'm out there to make strong disciples of Christ. In turn...the numbers will come...

Disciples make disciples. We need more young disciples in the church, not higher numbers of kids who come in and then leave when "mommy and daddy" aren't making them go to church anymore.

I could get on this subject as well but I figure we already have a plate full. Having had 3 children just go through the entire church scene you see it all. Fro , may God bless you as you strive to make a difference in th elives of youth that grow upi way too fast.
Remember,
Let us know if you need us.

Here in lies the secret. 1 Cor 1:2

Without these there is no church, no numbers, no growth, no finances, no pastors or ministries. These are the workers in the hive, the so called ministry are the drones.

Man I am so lucky to belong to the church i do. Certainly we have had our share of adversity but none to the extent that Rem has seen.
I have never witnessed any interest in numbers being reached in our youth ministry,. Probably because we are so small, perhaps 50 75 members in the whole church..
All my life i have gone to small churches where everyone knows each other and respects one another-for the most part. Those that would love to change us and mold us in their image usually do not last long..

Thank God for our Church..
