I know some of you were around when we had Jimmy in our home a little over a year ago, well it looks as though things have gone wrong for his parents again and they are coming back our way. His parents called yesterday and spoke to my oldest girl at home and were wondering if we would take Jimmy in while they got back on their feet.
Our hearts are aching, we will take him back in of course, but I am going to play hard ball with his parents and flat tell them we will not have the games like we had before with them showing up when ever they want to see him drunk/stoned or what ever. I am also going to push them to give him up to us because they are and have been incapable of raising him or providing him even the most basic of a family life.
When we first got him he was 5 and had never sat down at a table with ANY family for a meal.
Please pray for Jimmy, my wife and I that God will watch over Jimmy and guide Deb and I in providing for Jimmy what ever we can.

Hope it all works out Taz--it's great that you are able to take him, and even better that you and your family are willing.

Taz, it takes God's special caringpeople to do what you and your wife are trying to do with Jimmy. My friend, the wife and I will have you and all concerned in this matter, in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks brothers, we will be spending a lot of time on our knees as we seek the proper guidance of what to do in the situation. We have had an ongoing emptiness in our house hold with Jimmy being out west, not knowing how he is. His parents are coming back to absolutely nothing, no job, no home, and if like the last time we got Jimmy he will have nothing more then the clothes on his back.
This whole thing is heart breaking and frustrating, this child needs a real home with a family, and I do not see how we can accomplish this with no legal rights to him other then temporary school custody once he is back in school. We are going to need some legal advice about a lot of things, one of them being how in the world can we get him re-enrolled in school here if his parents have no address? If Jimmy gets sick or hurt, etc. etc.???

Ausie when we had Jimmy the first time we started working with CPS and to make a long story short, first of all we would have to be state certified Foster Parents and even then if they wound up taking Jimmy from them they would simply put him into the foster care system with who ever was next to get a kid.
In a nut shell, we could have probably had him taken away from them at the time, but we would not of got him. Sadly in Va. it is simply a system and not geared at all to the kids feelings or people who already know and love him. We hope and pray that some how legally his parents could sign him over to us.
Thank you all for the prayers.
