I know of quite a few that do.

Methodist...
Traditional ....Preacher is in his robe
Uses a hymnal
More older people

Contemporary..Preacher may be in slacks and shirt
Praise /Worship Band
Chorus instead of hymns
More younger people

Some actually have the congregation eatting at tables {Breakfast}
I've been at some where you bring your coffee and breakfast to the pew with ya.

The responsibility is ultimately on the congregation and not the worship planning committee. No matter what style of worship is used in the church, if unbelievers do not discover what they are searching for in it, they probably won"™t stick around. Odds are, they can find better entertainment somewhere else. However, if the people of the church make an effort worship God with their full being every Sunday, it will be noticed by the outsiders looking in. That is how evangelism is accomplished through worship. It has nothing to do with debates over styles but everything to do with giving God all of the glory that He deserves.

That is not the norm my friend. This is a church which proudly goes against the grain or the "Norm" I just visited. The worship group was a Christian Rock group . They are an out reach church to drugies.

I'm seeing more and more of that. Come to think of it there is a 3rd one. These are folks reachinhg folks who would not normally attend chuirch.

b-arrow, as a Christian who leans on Scripture for Truth, I must say that there is no such thing as a "church service". Such things are the creation of man. Much of what goes on in "churches" today is a result of the influence of Greco-Roman pagans. Pews, ailses, pulpits, hired speakers, hired clergy, collection plates, and so forth have no Biblical foundation, therefore they should not be a concern of the Christian.
Man, I think God meant you to be a BULL, cause you sure swing low!

WHOA!!! I LIKE!!! I think you just said in a short paragraph what I've tried to say several times in the company of some of my friends...only I usually end up rambling for 10minutes and making a horrible mess of it
