April 19, 2006 - Zola Leaves Us
Sadly a great defender of Israel, evangelist, TV host, musician, author, and more, has passed away today. Zola Levitt died of cancer according to ministry leaders and family.
I had Zola on air several times and shared a prophecy platform with him in 2001. I did not know him well but appreciated the clear manner in which he shared the gospel and truth. He was most certainly not politically correct, preferring to be biblically correct.
He was originally given a year to live after a February diagnosis, but the Lord called him home much sooner. As son Mark says, "Happy is the man whose work is his play."
Tens of thousands were touched by his gifts and talents. Eternity will reveal how far his outreach was and how many people he awakened to the Jewish roots of Christianity, travel to Israel, and most importantly, how many were saved because of his ministry. My father, raised as an Orthodox Jew but who died a believer, appreciated Zola's books more than most others, and particularly those that had that unique Jewish humor.
