This is not intended to start a discussion or arguing but, if I'm not mistaken, I heard someone say the other day (not in here but whereI live)that Goliath was created from "angels" or "spirits" that came to earth and had sex with men/women. I cant quote him exactly but does this sound familiar to anyone and if so is it true and if it is could someone please point me to the scripture where it speaks of this? Thank you all for your input and have a good and blessed day my friends.
I don't know that is true about Goliath but if you will go to Genesis chapter six you will be able to read for your self. This was before the flood and actually one of the reasons God sent the flood. I am not sure if the what I will call fallen angels were around during the time of Goliath but I know Jesus said that during the time leading to the tribulation the world would be like it was in Noah's day...........hope this helps.
Goliath son of Rapha was a giant 9 feet 5.7 inches tall, he also had a brother who was a giant also perhaps even taller. Giants occur all over the known world and unknown worlds, skeletons have being found all over the americas including the USA.
The Bible does say a race of such existed at the time of Noah and after Noah Genesis chapter 6.
The Bible does not say a union between angels and women, which will be the word malak in hebrew and that is not found in teh original torah, the word found is Ben Elohim , the sons of God, in the same context found in Job Chapter 1, people assume they are angels because of the theology that satan was an angel and he appeared before God to report what he had done. Again the ones appearing before God are the Ben Elohim and not angels , perhaps creatures of God from other creations.
The Myth of Satan being an angel cannot be supported by the word, except a passage in ezequiel where the word lucifer appears , which that in itself is a transliteration mistake as Lucifer is not a Hebrew word but a latin word.
Many of us are led to believe that satan fell from heaven, but rather the bible says from the heavens ( a much more lower place) or space above the first heaven but not the 3rd heaven where God dwells, and he took 1/3 of the stars( PLanets),not 1/3 of the angels although angels did follow satan.
So it appears that a union betwen these fallen beings which were also flesh occured.
The Jewish sages said this was the ultimate plan of Satan to mix the Human DNA with a foreign DNA that way the MESSiah could not be borned as the Messiah needed to be a direct descendant of adam and eve not a mixture with other alien races. There is a lot there to ponder on.
Shalom

Most people hold to the idea that the Sons of God in Genesis 6 are descendants from the line of Seth (Adam's son) and that the daughters of man were Canaanite women.
Not sure how that explains the great stature. But the Bible does say, "Nephilim" existed pre-flood and post-flood. I think most of the belief on fallen angels creating giants comes from the book of Enoch, which is outside the biblical canon. It talks of fallen angels, of them inter-marrying and teaching mankind ways unknown to them.
Most also claim that there's no basis for believing that angel can pro-create with humans. As far as we know they have no sex and no sexual desire for humans.

Again, thank you all for your comments. I'm not saying I believe one way or the other....but everyones comments are very very interesting. Thanks again.

You are speaking of two different terms, angels known as malaks in hebrew can be spirits and they can have human form, they appeared many times to different people such as Daniel ,abraham, the parents of Samson in human form.
also in spirit form.
The confussion is to apply the word Malak only to spirits, the word Malak means messenger, envoy, embassador and it is still use to this day.
A man can be an angel when, he preaches the gospel he is an angel (messenger, envoy from God).W all have being angels at one time or another when we service someone in distress or help out in some way.
That is the term Malak=angel in the bible.
Genesis 6 does not use the term Malak but rather Sons of God refering to beings such as satan see Job chapter 1, there the term Malak is not used either. I still contend that satan is not shown as an angel anywhere in the bible.
It is ovious that the sons of seth were marrying with any woman on earth, tehre was no division yet of races, no cananites or hebrew or anything else, that came much later after the flood and the tower of Babylon when the languages were confused and god created the divisions of races, that is when the prohibitions of marriage for people came evn further after abraham and then Moses.
So that interpretation doesn't make sense.
The book of enoch does not speak of angels either, but rather beings that mixed with women, the term used in Genesis is that they abducted the women of men, in englsh the word use is took the women of men, well that taking was not voluntarily apparently.
Enoch speaks of fallen angels teaching the men of those days, the occult and science but not angells taking women.
It helps a little when you can read it in Hebrew.
Shalom
