Jesus Christ paid for our sins with his shed blood. The Father accepted His payment. Christ is our High Priest who APPLIED his precious blood on our behalf in the Holy of Holies before God the Father.
Hebrews 9:7-14..........." But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offfered for himself and for the peoples sins committed in ignorance; But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation, Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy PLace once for all, haveing obtained eternal redemption . "Col. 1:20 says "And, having made peace through teh blood of his cross" We are redeemed "throught the blood of the everlasting covenant. "( Heb. 13:20 ). Unlike the Old Testament this act was once. And Jesus handles the blood not us, but it is APPLIED to recipients of salvation.
Hebrews 10:19-22.........."Therefore bretheren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
As you can see Christ entered the Holy of Holies but once, it was a one time event. He was the atonement for our sins but ONCE.
His Blood: Redeemed us...Acts 20:28, Eph. 1:7, Rev. 5:9,
His Blood: Cleanses us.....Heb. 9:14, 1 John 1:7, Rev. 7:14
His Blood: Gives us forgiveness: Eph. 1:7, Heb. 9:22, Rev 1:5
His Blood: Justifies us.......Rom. 5:9
His Blood: Sanctifies us...Heb. 13:12
For anyone to diminish the necessity of the blood atonement of Christ is an abomination to God. For anyone to say the blood of Christ is not sufficient and would add works to his finished work, that too is an abomination.
Our baptismal regeneration friends will try and tell us that the Blood of Christ must be applied to baptism. The word of God is true and as we can see Jesus sacrifice was a one time event never to be repeated, especially not to be repeated attached to works over and over every time a believer is baptised. Remember all our works are like filthy rags to the Lord. The blood of Jesus is all sufficient. Only the high priest handled the blood to go on the mercy seat for the forgiveness of sins, Jesus is the one who sprinkeld the blood not us . We can not physically touch it today nor can we apply it anywhere else, since we are NOT the high priest.....Praise God!
Amen, to the fact that Jesus shed His blood for our salvation!
And you are correct in that we cannot physically touch the blood of Christ. It would be impossible to go 2000 years back intohistory, and if we could that physical blood wouldn't change a thing about our salvation condition.
We do, in my understanding touch it spiritually though. It washes us, and cleanses us, (Revelation 1:5, 1 John 1:7). So there must be a point at which we contact the blood. When it is in fact "applied" to our soul andwashesour sinsaway. When is that point, the moment of application according to the Bible, what does the Bible say about that specific moment? Is there Book, Chapter, and verse in detailfor this extremly important moment? I believe so.
Jesus taught that He is to be our food and drink. He is our source of life. Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me." (John 6:53-57)
After Jesus told the people that they needed to eat His flesh and drink His blood some of His followers left Him. They were offended at the thought of such things. The message of the cross and the blood that Jesus shed always separates the spiritually minded people from the carnal minded. After the offended people left Jesus He told His disciples, "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life." (John 6:63) Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.(1st Cor. 2:14)Jesus is obviously speaking spiritually about drinking His blood.
How do we feed on Jesus? And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35) We feed on Jesus by coming to Him and believing in Him. Coming to Him means having a heart that is drawn toward Jesus. We are to seek God with all of our heart, mind, and strength. We receive from God by faith. Those who believe in Him receive Jesus blood and all its benefits. At the cross is where Jesus body became our bread and His blood became our drink. When we feel weak and hungry we must return to the cross. There we will find nourishment, strength, and satisfaction.
Jesus taught His disciples to remember His sacrifice for them. And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. (Luke 22:19-20) We are to partake of communion to remember His broken body and the blood that Jesus shed for us. By remembering the cross we come to Him and by faith we receive Him.Now that we are partakers of the blood of Jesus we now have the same Holy Spirit empowering us to give our lives to God and serve Him in the Spirit of Holiness.

You fellows are giving me a lot of good scripture about the blood, but you are not answering the question. "how and when" is the blood applied to the individual who comes to God for his cleansing and atonement?
We can truthfully say that Jesus died that the world might be saved. Does that mean that everyone in the world is saved by that fact? No, it means that there is a way for the world to be saved if they choose. Something must be done for one to partake of that available salvation. The same with the blood of Christ. It is there for everyone who comes, "whoso ever will, let him come". Faith doesn't equal baptism in water, it only leads to baptism. Faith doesn't equal the application of the blood, it lead to it. When is the blood applied?
The blood in the Tabernacle was a "figure", was a "type", and was a "shadow" of the true which was yet to come. A shadow is formed when light shines upon an object, whatform, or figure caused the Old Testament shadow?
but it is APPLIED to recipients of salvation.
bohunter, I agree with your above quote, just tell us when and how it is APPLIED to those recipients of salvation.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
The bible makes it clear that our bodies are the temple of the living God. And as the physical temple was cleansed and purified of sin by the application of blood, Jesus is saying, do likewise through baptism.

Bro Reb, Not arguing with you reply here, just asking a question for clarification. Are you saying that the blood is applied in the act of baptism? Would that mean that those who are not baptized, are without the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Brother Snooky,We have everything that God promises us. Was the temple of Holy of Holies cleansedand purified with theBlood? Whatis Jesus saying in 1Cor 3:16,17? You don't consider your body the temple of God? What do you consider Baptism for, just to clean the flesh?
One day you decide to haveshingles applied to yourroof cause youcan no longer tolerate the leaks. You decide to call a roofer to have the shingles applied. The roofer comes and has to examine the foundation for the new shingles. He hands you a Contract to sign for thedecision you have made. If you refuse to sign the contract, you think heis going to be kind enough to go ahead and do the Commitment that you are asking him to do?
Are you telling me that a person is not accepting the Blood of Christ when they are baptized?By remembering the cross we come to Him and by faith we receive Him.Now that we are partakers of the blood of Jesus we now have the same Holy Spirit empowering us to give our lives to God and serve Him in the Spirit of Holiness. When Baptized you seal that commitment!

When Peter and the rest of the Apostles were askin Acts chapter 2, "what shall we do" Peter, the apostle with the keys to loose and bind on earth and in heaven replied, " repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ" for what??? As a public confession? To seal the commitment? as an answer to a good conscience? The bible answer is "for the remission of sins". No other reason is named there. Heb 9:22 Without the sheding of blood, there is no remission.
And as the physical temple was cleansed and purified of sin by the application of blood, Jesus is saying, do likewise through baptism.
Your above quote seems to say that we through baptism apply the blood for cleansing just as it was done in the physical temple. That is what was said, was it what you intended to say?

Bro. Snooky, we have a lack of communication here. What is your method of Showing the Lord of what he has done for us and prove to Him you accept it? It seems to me that you do believe all the things He has done for us, but you do not want to sign and seal your commitment? Is that correct?
