The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God John 5:10-18 KJV.

Man and rules make life so much easier except when it when it comes to walking with God. Whoa, what are you saying, motor? Well, in the Old Testament, much was laid out for the people of God and the rules were to be followed. In fact some of those rules are still very good to be used today. Taking waste out of the camp orkeeping sick people awayfrom healthy people. Who would have known or understood germs except God! Now in the time of Jesus, the rules had been added upon by the traditions of men. For some it was scary just getting out bed because of the rules of man. as you can see on this forum there are manydifferent rules for the same thing..all God wanted men to do was to honor and glorify Him, but instead they turned loving God into a bunch of rules laid out by men. That is why Jesus was so upset with the religious leaders of His day. and how do you think HE feels today about the way Christians behave? God had been lost in regulations and people did not see God as God wanted them to see Him. Jesus saw a man who had been ill for all his life and Jesus helped him by healing him. Jesus did look and see that it was the Sabbath and He should not do anything, but saw a man who needed His help. Where do you and I stand when it comes to following God? Are we rules and regulation people or are we children who want to obey and honor God. Think about this: The next time you are on your way to church and you see a car stopped by the side of the road, what are you going to do? Get to church and Sunday school or be the hands of Jesus to a stranger? May His hand be on you and have a great weekend, and please, tell someone about JESUS!

Bro. Wayne, many times I have stopped and have called AAA on my card for them or let them use my cell phone to call for help, but never late for Sunday school or Church.
