It seems to me that most out there use the King James Version. I prefer the New American Standard because it is easier to understand. Just curious what versions you all like out there, maybe some suggestions for good ones.
My new favorite is the English Standard Version. It is really great1 You would like it. My old favorite and still most of my memorized verses are from the New King James.

I listen to the New Listners version on audio from time to time but read the NIVbefore I go to bed sometimes, and at church I usually have either the KJVor the NKJV. But recently I was told by a supposalprofessor in biblical languages at Southern seminary college. And I guess he was.He was preaching outof the greek and hebrew bibles. But told us the American standard bible is probably more correct than the rest cause its a word for word translation. I went on a retreat for men where it was 24 hours of bible study and thats all I heard was in the KJV its wrong here and there. None of his comments was aimed at main doctrine principles, but little things like in Genesis, where God laid Adam in the "garden to tend", he said that is a wrong phase, etc, etc. It was hard to hear that. But I have accepted he may be write. I always liked to think the KJV was the word of God perfect.

But see rebel, alot of scholars and greek and hebrew experts claim the KJV to also have several small errors. I don't know either way. When I was at that retreat, one guy asked what version he recommended, and Dr. Howe, said, "I only read from the Greek and Hebrew texts". But thats just not reality for most of us.

Brother, it's everyonesprerogative to read and studythe bible oftheir choice. My posts show us in Black&White the differences. Now it'sour choice to decide which one. All the other versions used the KJV to copy and change the meaning of verses and leave out verses at will. 99.99% used the KJV when they printed theirs.

No offense rebel, but I don't believe thats correct.
Actually according to my pastor, none used the KJV to copy at all. They used the greek and hebrew text. It was just some used more and some used less translators. And some had a different plan. Some wanted word by word translation, and some wanted sentence to sentence translation like the NIV, and some like New Listeners used paragraph to paragraph paraphrase.
