Default sin

The bottom line truth in understanding sin is: God is sinless. Thus, every time I sin, I step out of fellowship with Him. And I do sin. So, how can I remain in fellowship with Him and other believers and have the joy that such a relationship brings? The amazing thing is that God wants to maintain that relationship with me even more than I want to maintain it with Him. Consequently, He has given me His Holy Spirit to convict me of my sin. And when the Spirit does that, I have two choices. I can agree with the Spirit"s prodding and confess my sin thus restoring the close relationship and the joy. Or I can deny that it is sin and call God a liar, grieving the Holy Spirit, losing my joy"and march on to the consequences. But there is something that happens in heaven when I shake my fist in God"s face and rebel against the Spirit within me. An act occurs that we are often afraid to tell people about. When I am at my worst, Jesus stands up in heaven and says, "I paid for that sin. It"s forgiven." Yes, Jesus loves me that much! And if I really understand love, even just a little bit, such love encourages me not to sin more but to sin less and to eagerly confess the sin the Spirit reveals to me. If I truly understand sin and how it affects my relationship with God, I will eagerly await the Spirit"s convicting voice and readily respond to the loving Savior who died to give me victory over that sin. And I will daily know full joy.--Al Iten....www.cobg.org

That is good stuff. But here is the hump I am fighting. The closer I get to God, the more appearant my sins become. I am sure everyone has heard this, but I felt it. I am thankful to be getting closer to God, but in the same way, I feel like a piece of crap. Cause I am, we all are. We have such high regard for ourselves. So then I get down, and have trouble forgiving myself. And pray about the same old sin. I have such trouble remembering God's promise to me that he would forgive me. I pull my sin like a bag of bricks. I get over it, but have think this is the way of it on my stage of my walk. Maybe different for others. And sometimes I feel so convicted of the sin, it turns into a slippery slope and I fall away. But as long as I keep getting up and climbing that hill, I will be alright.

There is difference between committing a sin ,which we all do on occasions and practicing sin.
Practicing sin (repeated behavior ) is what makes us loose fellowship with him.
All sins must be confess ,although God knows them.
It is for you benefit to confess it.
Shalom

Here is what our Lord said to the church of Ephesus in Rev.2.
Rev.2:5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;{ Do the first works when we had our first love. The first love most of us had was a love for the reading of God's WOrd. I'm finding myself being drawn back to that. The basics of God's Word. There are so many blessings tha tautomatically come to us when we simply read God's Word.|or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. The sin brother mark must be overcome through the power of God's Spirit.
Romans8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Stay in God's Word brother and the deliverance and fruit will come. That Word is for thee and me.

John6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Love ya,
Chuck7

I'm starting today my friend. I'd love for you to join me. Most of all the fellows I led to Christ in the service was when I was quietly reading that one chapter by myself at lunch time. They would come over and ask questions. The Lord will help ya with the answers.I've been reading my Word in the cafeteria and now many of my students are bringing their Bibles and reading as well. It is contagious and the best investment of time there is.
