Let me add a personal favorite that hits the same topic.
Psalms 1:1-4
"Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
His delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf aslo shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so."
Couple that with Proverbs 16: 3&9
"Commit your works to the LORD and
And your thoughts will be established...
A man's hear plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps."
Those two groups of scripture have often put my mind at ease about "what does God want me to do with my life". My take on it is this: Keep your nose to grind --He has shown you O' man what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God?-- and 'he'll take care of the rest.'
