Children
We often forget that we are His children and what all that means on a practical basis.
It means that He has committed Himself to providing for our needs"”both physical and spiritual. All that we have is His provision, not a product of our own resourcefulness. He knows what our needs our. He only gives good gifts"”even the gift of discipline. He allows us to suffer because it teaches obedience and obedience brings great blessing"”even it the midst of suffering. He loves us so much it hurts Him. He feels our every struggle, knows our every weakness, knows the power of the temptations that confront us, and knows how we can attain the victory. We just need to go to Him and ask. He values each tear we shed; He weeps with those who weep. His silence is not a sign of His disapproval but of His confidence. He"™s not telling us what to do because He knows we already know the right thing to do. There is never a moment when He doesn"™t love us as deeply as only perfect love can love. He rejoices in our obedience, our faith, and our love for others. He laughs with us in our moments of happiness and joy. He is not ashamed to call us His child before the angels of heaven. "śThat one there. See. He"™s mine."ť He loves us enough to let us be a prodigal, to let us go our own way in search of a love greater than His. He knows we won"™t find it. He knows that the world"™s "ślove"ť cannot provide for us what His love does. And when we finally understand that and come running home expecting to be treated as a disobedient slave, we find ourselves in the embrace of a loving Father, caught up in the celebration of His joy. A child of God. It"™s a marvelous thing to be"”both now and eternally.--Al Iten
