What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:1-7 KJV.
Depending on where you came from, probably one of the hardest things as a child of God to get your hands around. Some of us came from Christian homes, some from non-Christian, but no real problems. Then there are those who never understood the word Good until you heard the name of Jesus and what He did for you. It is a battle we each have and must learn that God wants us to be salt and light in a dark world.
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt.5:13-16 KJV.
For those whose backgrounds were dark and now see the light, it is more easily understood, but what we each need to understand is that my sin and your sin regardless of the degree is SIN!! It is why Jesus came and why He had to die as a sacrifice for a lost creation. For the average individual this is very hard, but for the child of God who has learned to see with the eyes of God, it is an understandable thing. Let us be as children who love to share about those we love and may we love Him as He has loved us!!
