They are sick, they are poor, and they die by the thousands and we look away. They are wolves at the door and they're not gonna move us or get in our way..Cause we don't have the time, here at the top of the world.
Feeling alright, here at the top of the world. We hold our own by keeping our hearts cold.
Different god, darker skin. They are just not a burden that we'd like to bear. They are living in "sin". There are so many reasons for us not to care
But I'm feeling alright here at the top of the world. Doing just fine
here at the top of the world. We've learned money matters most so we keep our cards held close...
Here at the top of the world we hold our own by keeping our hearts cold.
And we've learned what matters most...so we keep our hearts cold.
They are no one, they are nowhere, they are not our problem, not worth saving.
Nonexistent if we keep our hearts cold.

"Error never shows itself in its naked reality in order not to be discovered. On the contrary, it dresses elegantly, so that the unwary may be led to believe that it is more truthful than truth itself."
-Irenaeus of Lyon
[7] If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
[8] But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
[9] Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
[10] Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
[11] For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you
That is really a good piece. Did you write it yourself? I sponsor a couple of kids in other poor countries that are 5 years old. I actually get a drawing, or a note peruiodically from them. I also support World Vision, and infact ,just the other day mailed a check to a project in Costa Rica. I don't say this to 'toot my ownhorn', but in support of your theme in the prose.I can, we all can--do more--financially and prayerfully. If you would, remember a woman and her 4 children named Carmen who was abandoned by her husband and lef to scrounge for food and support for her children and herself.
My wife and I support a girl named Mariam through World Vision. It was actually pushed by my favorite band...and we decided to sponsor a child. We have been for a little over a year now.
And no, it's not my work. It's from another one of my favorite bands...but I thought the message of it, would ring loud and clear. And I think it did, and does.
As a people (Americans) we as a whole, could care less whether or not anyone else eats, sleeps, or hears the word of Christ. We say we do, but our actions and lifestyles say otherwise.
We don't like seeing starving children...or people with AIDS. They aren't like us. They're not our problem. They did this to themselves...
Where is the mind of Christ in that?
