Default LOOMING WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Looming War in the Middle East
Neil Cooper
The Israel Report
February 10, 2006
Wherever you are, your world is about to change.
Israel today is facing an existential threat, and the world is largely
oblivious to the fact that it is a threat that will engulf the entire
world in the days ahead. Watching the Syrian Muslims violently
destroying the Danish Embassy in Damascus, I could only think
“Animals”. The reaction in the past week over a few
cartoons depicting Mohammad should wake the world up to the demented
worldview of the Islamic religion. No one is mentioning of course the
horrendous cartoons that consistently run in Islamic publications
regarding Israel and the west. My feeling is however that the west has
lost its courage and will respond in a politically correct way and try
to soothe the savage beast with kind words and platitudes.
It will not work.
At a press briefing this past week, the Israeli Defense Forces Spokesman
said this was the beginning of a war that could last 100 years. He
reprimanded the press, particularly the BBC for thinking that this was
Israel’s problem and ignoring the rise of Islam in their own
countries. “You spend time tearing down and blaming Israel while
they blow up a bus in London.”
This is a religion with one goal in mind, and that is world domination.
They will never stop coming, because a spirit as old as the world itself
drives them. The greatest stronghold for the devil has always been in
the Persian region we know today as Iran. This is the head of the snake,
but our battle is not with flesh and blood but with powers and
principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Even if Iran is
physically stricken, like a weed with deep roots it will grow back
again, until it is dealt the final blow at the coming of the Lord.
There is no place to hide. The tentacles of Islam have been growing
under the ground for decades, and now it is sprouting everywhere. There
is no central point to wage war against, the Internet has allowed them
to proliferate, and if you were to capture Bin Laden today, it would
stop nothing. This movement is unified by one thing, hate. Hate for the
God of Israel and His people, hate for everything that is not Islam.
They operate very independently however and if you kill one leader, it
merely infuses them with more hatred, more desire for vengeance, and
more energy to enrage the battle.
This week Vladimir Putin invited Hamas to Moscow for an official visit.
As we see Russia under girding the Islamic nations in their bid to
destroy Israel, I see the coming battle of Gog and Magog looming on the
horizon. (See Ezekiel 38)
Inside Israeli intelligence, there are many dire predictions. The
military leaders are terribly frightened by the prospect of living with
Ehud Olmert as the Prime Minister. He is a man known for corruption and
lies, his wife has been an open proponent for giving the land away, his
children hate Israel and left long ago, and he has never had any
military training, or service which makes him unable to make the
critical military decisions that are required daily of an Israeli
leader. As I visited this week with a close friend’s uncle
Yehuda, an Israeli war hero during the battles of 48, 67, and 73, he
became somber to the point of tears and declared that if Olmert is
elected, Israel will not exist in two years. I said that without divine
intervention he was being about one year too optimistic, but that I also
believe that divine intervention will come.
This past week saw the beginning of the Civil War that will divide
Israel against itself. Olmert succeeded in again painting anyone who is
a Zionist, and a lover of the God of Israel as a fanatical enemy opposed
to peace. It is suspected that the coming confrontation in March with
the settlers (the next slated destruction of settler homes) will become
the worst bloodbath in Israeli history. The police this time will use
live ammunition on the protestors leaving who knows how many lying dead.
I believe the purpose for this is to scare the settlers into abandoning
their homes prior to further expulsions.
The greatest threat concerning Israel’s generals is the
possibility of a weapon of mass destruction finding its way into Gaza.
They know already that they possess shoulder to air rockets capable of
bringing down a Jet airliner, and now that they have Gaza, they are
within range to launch it. As I said in my last report, Israel expects a
daily assault on Ben Gurion airport to ensue in the next few months in
the effort to stop all flights in and out of Israel, effectively making
Israelis prisoners within this narrow strip of land.
Israel expects a major WMD bomb to hit the heart of Israel within six to
twelve months, possibly as soon as three. They are forecasting the
overthrow of Mubarak in Egypt by the radical Muslim Brotherhood, as well
as the overthrow of Abdulla of Jordan, and the Saudi Royal Family. None
of these leaders has a love for Israel, but their successors have no
restraint and are ready for global confrontation.
The Palestinian Authority as we have known it is no more. Within his
ranks, Mahmoud Abbas has been accused of being too moderate which in
their mind is what led to the election of the more radical Hamas. He has
been ‘Ordered’ not to change anything until the Hamas
has fully taken over, and his own Fatah party is rejecting him to become
more militant than even Arafat was before him. Their strategy once the
airport has been closed will be to attack major infrastructure, blow up
major highways, and to effectively cut off the ability of the military
to mobilize and react. Arabs will rise everywhere and start to murder at
will.
All of this in the midst of the greatest unified external threat Israel
has ever faced.
It is easy to say that I am reacting in fear, or that I am not trusting
God when I report these things (I usually get a letter or two to that
effect), but I do not believe the modern “Christian”
theology of ignoring the facts and speaking only things that are
pleasant is biblical, or even very smart. Every prophet brought messages
of warning of things to come, and to prepare for it through repentance.
Even Jesus, the Lord of all prophecy did this. We are to know the times
and the seasons, and use our knowledge of those things to prepare
ourselves, and to help others to be prepared also.
I have said it before, and I will repeat myself here. Yes, I know that
God will not abandon Israel, and that He will ultimately destroy those
who come against His land and people, but I also know that He
mysteriously allows us to participate in this end time battle through
prayer and intercession. I believe that the amount of devastation can be
positively or adversely affected by our fervency, or lack thereof, in
prayer. Being aware of the urgency and conditions of the situation we
find ourselves in, doesn’t mean that somehow I don’t
believe in God’s word or promises, nor does it mean I have given
myself over to fear. The fact that I know these things is precisely be
cause I do believe in God’s word and have studied it for over
forty years. I will tell you this though; the time to allow God to shed
light on our inner selves in order to get everything in order with Him
is now. Because if we are not separated from the world, we will be
overcome by a fear greater than any of us has ever known.
When God led His people out of Egypt, it was a fore shadow of a much
greater Exodus to come. That exodus is being played out today in the
hearts of those whom God is calling to come out of the Egypt we know
today as the world system, which regardless of what country, economic,
or political system has at its root selfish desire. We are to be of the
kingdom of light, known by selfless love. If we call ourselves by the
Lord’s name and yet live like the devil, we have deluded
ourselves. If we lack love, we are just like the world, and no amount of
religious activity will cover for that.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is
in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I
never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew
7:21- 23
The will of God is to do mercy, to love unconditionally. Paul says that
without love all of our works amount to nothing. I believe the people
described above were part of a false church in which they were able to
acquire the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but they used them to elevate
themselves rather than to do selfless acts of mercy, and then they had
the pride to tell God all that they had done for Him. I pray that we
will not allow ourselves to become a part of this end time deception.
Love is the only known cure for the condition of pride. It is the only
thing that will give us victory in the looming darkness.

Yes Rev, even those who do not believe are talking about it, everyone feels something big is coming.

I hope they are also seeking God.
