sin in movies and video games

There are a lot of movies that have sinful things in them. For example the desperate housewifes show. I dont watch that show just because its pretty trashy. There are other movies I watch that are sinful. Am I going to do those things they do in the movie probably not. What about video games I have video games where I can go around shooting people. Would I go out in the real world and shoot people. No I wouldnt. Is it bad to watch and play things that can show sinful things?

Romans 1:29-32 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God"™s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Not only is it sin to do these things, but it is sin to approve of them as well! So is allowing the sin to be in your home, sin? Is allowing sin to entertain us not sinful? The scripture is clear.

Excellent reply Taz... A good rule to live by, is do, act, and live as though Jesus was standing right next to you all day long... In all reality, He is.
That normally covers all areas of life.

We all should strive to do everything in life for the Glory of God. We all fail miserably everyday with me probably being close to the worst. But we got to keep trying. Sounds as if you feel convicted? Do me a favor and read this. Think about it.

of course I read what you are telling me. some of the bible verses you quote I dont really get.

Cool, didn't know if you were still there. Bascially rework the way you think. Don't do things just because everyone does it. Hey, I am still working on it.

Thats cool bigcountry. I am going through a lot of hard times right now. Basically because of school. There have been a few things that I believe in have been basically put down for. For example sex before marriage. Have a few friends that have had sex. They say that once I do find that girl I will have sex. I want to do whats right so I can get into heaven. Life here on earth may seem like hell. I want to do whats right here so I can live enternal life with God. I am by no means perfect. I drink way to much (mainly because of school). If it werent for school things would be so much easier. Like I said school causes me to drink more then I should. There are other sinful things that I do. The list could go on.
