The church that attened when I lived in Montgomery has a controversial sign out in front. What do y'all think? On one hand I think they should have used better judgement and been more careing, on the other hand the homosexual movement is sorude and "in-your-face" that this may be the way to handle them, out in front and public. I'm not sure it was the best way, but it does make the point.
Rebel,
Absolutely! It is actually very careing and even loving to tell some one they are living in sin. If they would repent, they could have eternal life in heaven. James 5:19-20My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
I wish they would have used the New Testament to show God's disapprovaltoward that perversion! Y'all know aboutmy hang-up withusing the Old Testament to approve or disapprove of anything nowadays. I would have used:
Romans 1:24-28Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
Is'nt AIDS putting them to death?

Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you
Goose IMO there are better ways then that to point out sin to a sinner. As my mother used to say, "you will catch a whole lot more flys with honey then with vinager". Would a practicing homosexual be more or less likely to enter that church and experience the love of Christ with a sign out front like that? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that thier sin should not be pointed out to them, it should be, but not in a confrontational manner.
We should not as Christians stoop to the level of those that attack us, we should as Christ was, be above their level. Christ showed love for the sinners all the while letting them know what they were doing was wrong. Do not get me wrong though, if they enter a place of worship and desecrate it they should be dealt with as Christ did with the money changers!

Rebel,
I do not think that is exactly what that verse is referring to, but yes,AIDS is killing them, and alot of other innocent peoplealso. That verse is saying for the People of Isreal to actually kill the homosexual. Remember under the Old Law this isacommon resolution for sin.It stops the perversion and saves lives in the long run.

I'madding this cause I just thought of it. What about Romans 1:27? Now that COULD be talking about STD's couldn't it?
Romans 1:27 "and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."
Very good answer Taz, I have to agree with you. Even though it seems good to rub it in their face, it ain't right. They all aren't rude and militant. Some are actuallylooking for a Savior.
