Muslim Cartoon????

The first paper that ran these pictures was from Denmark called the Jyllands-Posten. I found these picturesin the Wikipiedia site. I just don't believe Christians would react this way to Cartoonsthat insult our faith. Mabey we're gettingused to it! The reaction of these folks make their religion seem sovain. What do y'all think?

lmao, ohhhhh but they are a "calm and kind people" and only the extremists among them are the ones drawing blood and causing gunfire in our midst.

Hey it just cartoons, but they are insulting, possibly also illegal and the responsible editor is being prosecuted for blasphemy in Denmark. Freedom of speech is more important than tender toes though, but I would also like to point out, that when the idiots they bussed in to riot, it was the imams that protected the christian churches in Damaskus. Today I saw an interview with an Iranianscholar, and he was very clear that burning embassies is a serious crime. Letsfocus that kind of guys instead of thethugs and hooligans!

The majority of Muslims are/were just as civil as we Christians were about the "The Book of Daniel" (Something like that) and the "Will & Grace" episode insulting Christ.

The Muslims using violence to protest are no different then the radical Christians blowing up abortion clinics or assasinating abortion doctors.

I will be the first to admit that there are percentage wise more Muslims that practice violence in the name of Religion today then Christians, but there have been periods in history where the Christians were more violent then Muslims.

It strikes me as ironic that the cartoon portrays Islam as a violent religion. They are protesting this how? Violently.

I highly, I mean highly disagree Tazman. Have you ever had to deal with an extremist Islamic? I have seen both extremist. The supposal Christians that firebomb a clinic, does not understand the true nature of what Jesus said in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. They must have skipped over that. But the Koran does speak of destruction of the Infidel. One is peace loving, and one calls for death of any unbeliever. You do the math.

You can't compare the two. If aChristian is an "extremist", and follows the Christian New Testiment, there would be no firebombings. If a Muslim is an"extremist" and follows thierKoran, a firebomb would be a walk in the park. Thank goodness, that most muslims don't follow thier rule book more closely.

bigcountry, I have lived an Islamic country for 2 1/2 years, during that time I never even saw an Islamic extremist, the people were polite, respectful and non-violent.

Would you like to discuss the Spanish Inquisition?

Would you not concur that the Christians who did this were not following the teachiing of the New Testament, yet they claimed they were?

Throughout history there have been religous extremist who have commited great atrocities on mankind even though the vast majority of the teachings of thier religion spoke out against the very things they were doing.

Have a peek at the Old Testament, tons of violence.
