Default False Teachings Of The JWS

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES: The Watchtower Society
FALSE TEACHINGS
"If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20)

Watchtower.teaching
Teaching ofScripture

THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST
Jesus was an angel who became a man (Watchtower, 5/15/63, p 307). He was just a man, however -- not God in the flesh (Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, p 306).
Jesus is/was fully God and fully man. See
The Deity of Jesus Christ

THE RESURRECTION
OF JESUS

Jesus was only 'spiritually' raised, not physically (Awake, 7/22/73, p 4; Let God be True, p 276).
Jesus was physically raised. In fact, Scripture teaches Jesus even raised himself from the dead. See
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

ETERNAL JUDGMENT
The doctrine of eternal torment (hell) is not valid. (Let God be True, p.90-90, and p. 94-95) The soul becomes extinct (nonexistent) after death (Let God be True, p. 74, 75 and p. 99).
Scripture, in both the Old and New Testament, teaches that the wicked will be eternally tormented in hell. See
The After-life

SALVATION
Salvation is by works (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 1, pp. 150, 152), through membership in the organization (Watchtower, 2/15/79, p 30).
Salvation by grace through faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ.
See
Salvation

THE TRINITY
The doctrine of the "trinity" is an invention of man. (Let God be True, p 100, 101)
Although the word "trinity" is not in the Bible, the concept of the three-in-one is throughout the Old and New Testaments.
See
The Godhead

THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is an inanimate force or power. (Watchtower, 6/1/52, p 24; Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp 406, 407)
The Holy Spirit is a Person. See
The Holy Spirit
What does Scripture say about false teachers?
A. It is the personal responsibility of the individual believer to
test doctrine (Ephesians 4:14) and see if it is "the doctrine of the Lord" (Acts 13:12), "sound" (I Timothy 1:10; 2 Timothy 4:3; Titus 1:9; 2:1) and "good" (Proverbs 4:2; I Timothy 4:6).
B. Scripture repeatedly warns of the coming of false teachers.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3; Matthew 5:19; 7:15; 15:2-20; 16:12; 23:2-33; 24:23-26; Mark 8:15; 13:21-23; Luke 11:38-52; Acts 15:11 24; 20:28; Galatians 1:7 ; I Timothy 1:3-7;6:3-5; 2 Timothy 3:13-14; 4:34; Titus 1:10-11; 3:10-11; Hebrews 13:9; 2 Peter 2:1; 2 John 7-10; Jude 1:4; Revelation 2:14-15
1. They teach the "doctrines of men" (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7; Colossians 2:22) and devils (I Timothy 4:1), not the "doctrine of Christ" (2 John 9).
2. If it is the "doctrine of God" (Titus 2:10), it will in every aspect correspond with
the written Word of God (Isaiah 8:20).
3. Teachers of "divers and strange doctrines" (Hebrews 13:9), who use the scriptures but twist their meaning (2 Peter 3:16), make no distinction between right and wrong (Ezekiel 22:26). Often their motive in ministry is one of
monetary gain (Micah 3:11). 4. Because people without a solid foundation in the Word can so easily be led astray (Matthew 24:24), "handling the Word of God deceitfully" (2 Corinthians 4:2) will be met with severe punishment (James 3:1).

Still waiting on Cataways responce. I remember hearing lot's of stories how the Pentecostals were possessed of the devil. It wasn't true at all. NO one on here truly knows what a JW is except for Cataway. Copy and paste are usually quite bias. Or ...unless you were oncea JW yoursellf. I've never been one.

well tonight i sat down to see what if any thing Worth wile on the old forum .right away i see a new posting buy Alex .false teachings of the JWS
well i said what kind of hate offerings does Alex have today.
there in i found this. Jesus was an angel who became a man (Watchtower, 5/15/63, p 307).
and this is the entire page of that issue

[Top of page 307]
congregational meetings and personal study of the Word of God. For us to be energized to run the race to the finish and receive the prize of life eternal requires constancy in attending meetings to get that knowledge. Family study and private study develop the desire to be at such gatherings. Every deviation from meeting attendance leaves us without some knowledge that we could have had. Each such loss will leave us just that much weaker to face the enemy. We have to be deep-rooted in the faith to carry on. Each family should have definite times for preparation for meetings and then be a participating unit in discussions when the congregation gets together. Being with our brothers at meetings has the advantage of keeping us in right associations that help us on the way to life. (1 Cor. 15:33) How miserable has been the failure of those who would try to disprove this divine warning! Then hold on to right associations. There is no need to go backward.
23 Wonderful blessings result now to those who cultivate associations with the New World society, wherein all encourage one another. If one is weak or wobbly, others obey the Scripture command to "straighten up the hands that hang down and the enfeebled knees . . . carefully watching that no one may be deprived of the undeserved kindness of God." (Heb. 12:12, 15) That is real neighbor love. Take your part in giving this encouragement. "Keep comforting one another and building one another up, just as you are in fact doing.""”1 Thees. 5:11.
24 The course of disciplined steadfastness will bring Jehovah"™s lasting approval and blessing. Persevere. Why should we allow our confidence to weaken with the passing of time or because of some expected difficulties? "So let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due season we shall reap if we do not tire out." (Gal. 6:9) The enduring keepers of integrity will have good use for what they get as their reward. Jehovah explains this to them when he says concerning the new world: ""˜For just as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making are standing before me,"™ is the utterance of Jehovah, "˜so the offspring of you people and the name of you people will keep standing. And it will certainly occur that from new moon to new moon and from sabbath to sabbath all flesh will come in to bow down before me."™" (Isa. 66:22, 23) By maintaining integrity in the Christian course we will be able everlastingly to worship our God and Father, Jehovah. You desire this, do you not? Do not give out in right works. Accept discipline, be steadfast on the way to life, to Jehovah"™s praise.

Power of One Watchtower
·
In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a sixty-three-year-old lady received a handful of old newspapers and magazines from a relative. Among these publications was a copy of The Watchtower, which she read. Greatly appreciating its contents, she soon tried to get other copies; but she was not able to find any of Jehovah"™s witnesses. So she learned by heart the contents of the one copy she had and told everybody about the wonderful things she had learned. Only after six years did a Kingdom minister knock on her door at an hour when this elderly lady answered. She was zealous for the truth, having been sustained for six years by just one copy of The Watchtower
i read the hole page ,twice ,and i can not find any thing that has to do with Jesus was an angel who became a man (Watchtower, 5/15/63, p 307).
Alex i don't know what to think. you come up with wild claims of impropriety .and the first thing ,at the top of the page, your credibilityno longerseems to exist . did you make this up or is it some one trying to miss lead you.
please .in the future will you at least verify all the info that your going to post .it makes you look like a puppet of Satan, trying to miss lead as many as possible.
so lets look at another quot from the list
Jesus was only 'spiritually' raised, not physically (Awake, 7/22/73, p 4;
and this is the page from that isue
Food
Supplies Shrivel in Asia and Africa
Yes, a few months back the "green revolution" seemed a glowing success, a triumph for technology. After the 1971 season, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi felt confident enough to declare that India would not be importing more grain.
But in less than a year that country has gone from a record surplus to a national food crisis. In one state 50 percent of last year"™s corn plantings died; only 30 percent of the rice could even be planted. The entire national grain harvest fell about 60 percent below normal. Men are compelled to work long stretches without food. And matters are predicted to worsen"”but not only in India.
Recent famine conditions in Afghanistan have been "only partially reported to the outside world," says the South China Morning Post. People in Afghanistan have been forced to leave their villages and have been reduced to eating grass and roots. Some have sold their work animals, land and even the roof timbers from their houses to buy whatever food is available. It has been reported that tens of thousands have died.
Reports of food shortage also come from the Asian countries of Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Laos and Turkey. Drops in crop production occurred in South Korea and Thailand.
Russia and China also have suffered recent grain setbacks. "The Soviet Union had its worst harvest in a century," said Canada"™s Spectator regarding the 1972 season. Russia was compelled to buy almost $2,000,000,000 worth of "urgently needed" foreign grain, mostly from the United States. There was also a decline in potato and vegetable production. The huge Russian shortages brought problems for the whole economy and led to the replacement of their agriculture minister.
China"™s grain production was down in 1972, as were yields of cotton, sesame and peanuts. It is one of the few times that they have officially acknowledged grain production losses since the Communists came to power in 1949.
Africa has also been affected by severe food shortage. The Rhodesian farmers"™ union refers to the 50-percent drop in crop production as a "national tragedy." The situation in Mauritania is called "extremely serious." Estimates there say that perhaps 80 percent of the cattle have died; grain production is only one fifth its normal level.
realy alex what did that page have to do with Jesus was only 'spiritually' raised, not physically (Awake, 7/22/73, p 4;

Apparently your browser is JW also,LOL

I had no problems connecting to right web page and study.
Here it is.

THE RESURRECTION
"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead ...
even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
1 Corinthians 15:19, 20, 22
© 1976, 1977, 1997 by Diane S. Dew
I. The doctrine of the resurrection is one of the most fundamental teachings of the Christian faith.
1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is
also vain.... And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."

Hebrews 6:1, 2
A. Our salvation and justification before God is based upon our belief in the resurrection
of Jesus Christ.
Romans 4:24, 25 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that
raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised
again for our justification."

Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
B. It is the basis of our hope.
Matthew 16:21; John 5:25, 28, 29; Acts 17:31; 23:6; 24:15; 26:6-8
Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 15:19, 20; 1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14, etc.;
1 Peter 1:3
C. The message of the early church focused primarily on faith in the resurrection.
Acts 1:21, 22; 2:24, 29-32, 3:15, 26; 4:2, 33; 5:30, 31; 10:39-41; 17:2, 3, 18;
23:6; 26:6-8; 13:30-37; Romans 8:34; 1:4; 7:4; 1 Corinthians 15:14, 15
Ephesians 1:20; 2 Timothy 2:8; 1 Peter 1:21
D. While some perverted the doctrine of the resurrection (2 Timothy 2:18), still others
rejected the fact altogether (Matthew 22:23; Acts 23:6-8; 1 Corinthians 15:22).

II. The resurrection of Jesus Christ occurred in fulfillment of prophecy.
A It was foretold in the Old Testament.
Psalms 16:10 (Acts 2:27; 13:35-37); Psalms 22:21 (John 20:17)
Isaiah 53:10; Jonah 1:17; 2:10 with Matthew 12:40
B. It was predicted by Jesus Himself.
Matthew 16:21 (Mark 8:31) "From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his
disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things ... and be killed,
and be raised again the third day."

Matthew 12:38-40; 17:9, 22, 23; 20:18, 19; 26:32; 27:63
Mark 9:10, 31; 10:32-34,14:28, 58; Luke 9:22; John 2:19, 21, 22
John 10:17, 18 "... I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from
me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take
it again..."

III. Scripture supplies definite proof that He was bodily resurrected (not just spiritually
speaking).
John 2:19, 21 " .... He spake of the temple of His body."
A The tomb was empty.
Matthew 28:6 (Luke 24:1-3, 12; John 20:1-9, Mark 16:2-6)
B. He appeared visibly to many people.
Acts 1:3 "... He showed Himself alive after His passion by infallible proofs..."
Acts 13:30, 31
1. First to Mary Magdalene. John 20:14, 16, 18 (Mark 16:9)
2. Then to the other women. Matthew 28:9
3. To Peter. Luke 24:34; 1 Corinthians 15:5
4. To Cleopas and the other disciple on the way to Emmaus. Luke 24:15
5. In the closed room, to ten disciples. Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19, 20
6. To the eleven. John 20:26, 29
7. In the mountains, to the eleven. Matthew 28:10, 17
8. At the sea, to Peter, Thomas, Nathanael, the sons of Zebedee, and two
other disciples. John 21:1, 14, etc.
9. To five hundred brethren at once. 1 Corinthians 15:6
10. To James, and to all the apostles. Acts 1:1-4; 1 Corinthians 15:7
11. To Paul. Acts 9:3-6; 22:17-21; 23:11; 1 Corinthians 15:8
C. He talked with them.
Matthew 28:10, 18; Luke 24:15-17, 25-27, 36-49
John 20:15-18, 22, 23, 26-29; 21:5-6, 10-22; Acts 1:3
D. He ate with them.
Luke 24:30, 35, 41-43; John 21:12, 15; Acts 1:34; 10:39-41
E. They touched Him.
1. The women. Matthew 28:9
2. The disciples. Luke 24:39
3. Thomas. John 20:27
IV. What makes the resurrection of Jesus Christ remarkable over and above the miracle
of others being raised from the dead, in both the Old and New Testaments, is the
fact that He raised himself!
John 2:19-21

Home Street Home The true story of how faith in God can carry us through every situation in life, including unemployment, poverty, rejection of family and friends, even homelessness. "The poor will always be with you," Jesus said. He himself was born in a barn, had no where to lay his head and, even in death, was buried in a borrowed tomb. This story should challenge the church to reach out to the needy, the stranger, the widow and the orphan. Cover story, Moody magazine, Feb. 1990.
A Love I Could Not Deny The true story of how one suicidal teen met God in her darkest hour. Published in Moody magazine, Feb. 1987.
'The Backslider in Heart' Every verse on the topic, in one outline. Includes: The causes of backsliding. Consequences for continually refusing to return. The conditional aspects of Christianity. Backsliders in Scripture. Safeguards. The recovery process. Responsibility to the backslider. God's call to return.
Choice Has a Name Unemployed, uninsured, evicted, totally broke, and clinging to a violent, failing marriage, and (mis)diagnosed as possibly carrying a deformed baby ... abortion was still no option. Even Jesus was not born into the best of circumstances: For His mother, young and unmarried, the timing was inconvenient ("it being the year of the census," they were "on the road"),. And a barn was not the most sanitary of places to give birth. Yet, Scripture says, "In the fulness of time, God sent his Son..." Amessage of faith, on trusting he faithfulness of God when eveything seems to be going wrong.Published in the Milwaukee Journal, 2/21/92.
Loneliness: A Study in the ScripturesOver 23.6 million people in the U.S. live alone, according to US Census Bureau figures. (38% are elderly.) So if you feel lonely, you are not alone! It was God (not a complaining Adam) who declared, "It is not good for the man to be alone..." From the prophet's "I sat alone," and the psalmist's "I am lonely," toPaul's "every man forsook me" - the Bible says much on the subject of solitude. This 12-page study examines, from a Biblical perspective, the causes and effects of loneliness - and some Biblical solutions. Some of the insights may surprise you!
Snowstorm in the High Sierras: Miracle of God's Provision. By David F. CalderonxII. Do you believe in angels? Here is the true story of God's miraculous and mysterious provision for a father and child stranded three days on a lake in the midst of a winter storm.

The Other studies is not the issue as you see.
